Best New Band this Decade?

I just checked Discogs and last year (2017) they released a 4-song EP on both disc and vinyl, and an 8-song "MiniAlbum" on Republic and Lava that got issued on CD no fewer than six times in North America, Europe and Oz.

This year (2018), they do have an album out, Anthem of the Peaceful Army. Ten songs, issued on CD five times and seven freakin' times already on vinyl in several shades including piss-yellow. Yeah, somebody's riding the wave.

Throwing another hat into the ring. Anyone here familiar with White Denim? They're an indie-rock band from Austin, Texas. A very eclectic mix of 70's soul, funk, psychedelic and rock. Think Bad Company, Stevie Wonder and Sly and the Family Stone blended together. They've been around for about 12 years or so. I don't know all of their stuff, but have been playing the crap out of their 2016 Stiff album since I bought it two years ago. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, and they're definitely not classic rock. But they are tight and talented.

So was I, until I started researching them a bit. Yeah, they covered "Rollin in the Deep"...and I think they did a very good job with a very tough song. But, if you keep looking, you can find them doing good covers of The Doors, Howlin Wolf, and all sorts of stuff. They are heavily blues influenced, as LZ were. When they cover Howlin Wolf, they SOUND LIKE LZ...because LZ was also heavily influenced by that type of music. There are concerts on YouTube where their dad is on harmonica...and you can absolutely tell that HIS blues influence is all over this band. I'm sure they grew up listening to their dad's music and that heavily influenced them....at least that is what they say in interview. They are much more than a LZ soundalike, cover band.

I'm not even that big of a fan of them...but I'm glad they are out there. I can hear and appreciate the band beyond the vocals...his brothers on guitar and bass are awesome. I also appreciate that they don't do a bunch of meddling with their instruments sound. So, I'm hopeful that they will continue and become something more than they are right now.

Not sure what you're getting so defensive over. This thread wasn't started by somebody saying they're "more than a LZ soundalike and/or cover band." GvF sounds like early Zepp when you punch in any YT concert and fast-forward through it. They're youngsters, I get it. But when somebody pushes a band like this as "better than anything else out there, right now," that's all hyperbole. I don't care that much. I'm not buying their stuff. Just funny to see people get worked up...kind of like yourself.
