On collaborating with Schon/Cain....

"Part of the excitement was creating with (Journey guitarist) Neal Schon and (Journey keyboardist) Jonathan Cain. We made new music and it was an amazing creative process. That part was cool and so was playing their classic material."

On departing the band....

“I was overworked,” he said. “My voice was just so taxed. I came down with pneumonia and I sang on top of that. That drove my voice into the dirt. I didn’t want to stop but I had no choice. I needed some time to recover. There was no other option. Journey had no choice but to continue without me.”

Glad to see SA has made his peace with his Journey past, and his doing so well mentally and physically. It's a nice contrast to JSS's lingering bitterness.

JSS communicated openly with fans upon joining journey - and he continues to be honest with fans by saying how he feels about the entire thing. I don't think that's bitterness at all. I appreciate him keeping it as real as he possibly can

Two different personalities and situations Steve realized he couldn't sing anymore and Jeff thought he was doing fine and in with the band. Steve was always quiet and reserved and Jeff is a straight shooter / says what he feels/in your face if need be type of guy. I think Jeff's doing fine mentally and physically, one could say bitterness or it could be he's just reflecting on something that just didn't make sense to him(he was doing well and boom he's out of the band and erased from its history)
