Cinematographer Robert Richardson Confirms Ben Affleck's 'Batman' Movie Would Have Tackled Arkham Asylum

RICHARDSON: “I wanted to shoot Batman with Ben [Affleck] cause that was the next film we had. There was a script, but not a loved script. There was a lot of work he was doing to it to change it.”

“Well, he was going into the more insanity aspects.”

“He was entering more into the Arkham, he’s going into where everyone was bad.”

HOROWITZ: I’m a comic book geek as you can imagine. We’ve never really seen Arkham Asylum.

RICHARSON: “No, and that’s where we were going. I was very interested in that one.”

Robert also mentions meeting with Tim Burton to be the cinematographer on his Nicolas Cage Superman movie back in the day as well.

So, SyFy canceled Krypton due to low ratings. I liked the show but it doesn't surprise me. It was getting very convoluted with different character arcs. There were almost too many "main" characters..both heroes and villeins. The idea was good...maybe it could be on their streaming service.

SyFy has cancelled soo many great shows. I didn't watch Krypton, but there's a pattern of SyFy mismanaging succesful TV properties.
Channel Zero was great - also yanked.

Joker. Wasn’t hyped for this movie. Didn’t know why they were making it. Just saw it. It terrified me. Filled me with dread. Built to surreal climax. In all onscreen Joker portrayals, I’ve never felt terror like this from the character. The balls on DC to make this. Bravo #joker

Box Office Mojo says Joker's preview Thursday brought in 13.3 million, an October record (beating Venom).

Source tells me that #Joker is heading to a possible FRI finish of about $40M incl THU pre-shows. Opening wknd #boxoffice may be on track to break the $90M mark. These would be new all-time records for opening day and opening wknd for the month of OCT. Spectacular.

Joker was fantastic. I had two small issues with it, but will refrain from discussing further until it's been out for awhile. I hate prequels and origin stories, but this was a tremendous achievement. A-

I saw Joker and Rambo yesterday.

Joker was astonishingly dark and a terrific movie.

Rambo was good for what it was and delivered.

Nice! I enjoyed both films alot. Have yet to see IT 2. 3 hours is a bit much.

I was forced to see Joker this weekend.

Yes, it's a great movie. You could look at it as a sorta prequel to the TDK movies, in a way. There is a lot of political over tones to it, good or bad. I look at it as being a bit like "The Wall", in that you are watching the complete mental breakdown of someone. I'm not sure I like the very last scene. It sorta leaves you questioning the entire movie...and then, what' s the point? A lot of people are going to want this to become canon DCEU (or whatever it is now)...and have a sequel, meeting Batman, etc.. There are obvious reasons why. Not to give too much away, but a lot of the movie takes place in A.fleck's imagination...I'm just not sure how that would work out.

One thing is certain, it's better than having the stupid punk rock version of Joker from Suicide Squad...that was a train wreck...this is far away from that.

Now give us a Bradley Cooper-led Lex film within the DC Black Label that delves deep into the same mindset of one of the most corrupt and savage businessmen in all Metropolis. Lex is just as deranged as Joker but is more people/alien obsessed and calculated. Do it WB.

As of October 13th Joker has made 192.7 mil in America and 543.9 worldwide. Not bad for an R rate movie after 2 weeks.
