Gary Cherone got a bad rep for Van Halen III but wow he sounds good here. He reminds me a bit of Roger Daltry in his prime. I'm truly blown away by this album.

Renders JTT absolutely pointless imo.

Neal is currently looking on YouTube to find Gregg's replacement...LOLdanielb wrote:Rolie is not appearing with them at the French show.

danielb wrote:Again, you just have to look at the track list. Deen sings the vast majority of the songs, not Gregg. Not a matter of opinion, but a fact.

I don’t mind, still really hope he comes to a few more places in Europe, I’ll make the trip if there’s some deep cuts

Ideally, Rolie would stay onboard, but his exclusion will not keep them stranded musically.

The issue is that without Gregg bringing some authenticity to the old songs, it is just the Neal Schon Band performing Journey songs...that deflates the entire premise of the band. Also, Deen may have a great voice. But, it is NOT a front-man quality like Arnel/Perry/ Augeri, JSS, etc. If he wants to be a lead singer, he should drop the drums, and get a voice coach and train his voice professionally. If he has done voice training, it hasn't shown. At least not to me. One or two songs per concert, OK...an entire concert of Deen singing Journey is not something I care much about.
