I quite like the line in Chainsaw Charlie (Murders in the New Morgue)

Our machine is hungry, it needs your life/Don't mind the faggots, and the ruthless scum/Before we're done son, we'll make you one

Blackie presents some interesting....observations on this album!

My AOTW is Stop Abusing Yourself - Twelve34. Some classic rock moments and a lovely bunch of guys, so it gets my vote just for that really.

Now all I need is a slush fund to go see them live in Canada, anyone want to contribute?

This week: Cryptic Vision - Moments of Clarity. Excellent prog-rock in the Kansas/Yes/Spock's Beard style.
It features Todd Plant(Millenium) on vocals, but this is better than anything he's done with them. It is basically a collaboration of Plant(vocals & songwriter) and Rick Duncan(multi-intrumentalist & songwriter), with help from Ralph Santolla(Millenium/Iced Earth-guitar), David Ragsdale(Kansas-violin) & Howard Helm( Zon/ Ian Hunter-keyboards).

Its actually not a bad version considering that i quite dislike that song (guitar teacher syndrome).

and that sounds like an interesting album Mel...might have to swap a few in the near future

ATOW is "Saints & Sinners" by Kane Roberts.
Hey Mr Rock, is that the new cd by 3 Colors Red. I have been waiting for a new one by those for awhile, as I have got their earlier releases.

Good one..I love Mag 9. They were supposed to be at this year's progpower show but backed out at the last minute. :x The Cryptic Vision album is really good, Tali.

This weeks AOTW is Phenomena - Phenomena. Talking about Glenn Hughes made me listen to it again. Great album, although the production sounds a bit dated nowadays. Lots of eighties echo... Still, it's the songs that count! :)

I can't really say what my AOTW is - I have too much new stuff to listen to. Check next week.

Amazing what really listening to an album can do. Methinks you need to listen to some more Nightwish so you can gain an appreciation for them too. :D

My AOTW is Masterplan S/T. It is good. Getting ready for the new one. :D

This week: Kasey Chambers - 'The Captain'.

Saw a video of hers a while back on a show called 'The Edge Of Country' and was floored by her voice. The kind of voice that makes you stop whatever you're doing and listen. The song was called 'Cry Like A Baby' and I immediately sought out the album and have not stopped listening since I got it. She is from Australia and does a kinda country/folk type thing, comparable to Emmylou Harris or Iris DeMent.

That's pretty harsh Tali :D I don't much like her either but I can listen to a couple of her songs. She's a real feral from the desert that girl.

I quite like the band, but not for long, if you know what I mean.

You have got to be fucking kidding......
I'd rather submit to anal sex with a Zulu tribesman with barbed wire wrapped around his cock than listen to an album worth of her breathy little girl voice.
hey, I'm all for variety, but ya gotta be shitting us, surely......

Harsh? Maybe. I prefer to think of it as a rather extreme way of expressing one's opinion.....

Certainly extreme, but then I guess some musical tastes and opinions are extreme. :D Melodics AOTW this week is extreme. :D

Oh, I thought Mel wrote a very passionate desciption of her music... I'm quite shocked by the responses; which were also very passionate BTW  , but then I don't know her music.

Breathy little girl voice... like Britney?
