Melodics AOTW this week is extreme.

If anything outside of the world of rock is extreme...then I guess that's true. I listen to a lot of country/folk or country/rock stuff. Here it's referred to as alt. country...outside of the Nashville scene and very rarily, if ever, played on the radio.

Breathy little girl voice... like Britney?

Kasey actually has talent and, though I've never seen her live, I'm sure doesn't lip-sync in concert. I think Kasey Chambers is a fantastic singer/songwriter and hope she make a stop close to here on her tour.

So, if next week my aotw is Alison Krauss, will I be roundly flogged with derision, as well?

Everything has to do with the music, always.
Especially in Kasey Chambers case. The fact that she's a minger certainly doesn't help, however. :lol:

Nah, she's not being trashed.....other than saying she's a minger and has a little girl voice.
She has certainly done well for herself considreing she has neither a great voice or looks, I'll give her that!

I like Unbreakable, especially after their Eye To Eye fiasco. Glad to see they have returned to playing good rock music. I think the album starts out really strong, but the last songs on the album are a bit boring... Still way better than Eye To Eye though!

Well, those are both songs from the second part of the CD... my attention had already drifted away a little... Need to give it another try.

So far IMO the best songs are New Generation, Deep And Dark and Blood Too Hot.

My AOTW (for the past two weeks anyway) goes to Esquire "S/T", which I received in a cd-r trade. Best described as a Yes album with female vocals. Couldn't imagine why, considering the vocalist is Chris Squire's daughter. A completely keyboard-driven progressive rock album. Brilliant in every aspect!

Now, the tough part...finding an original copy.

I am preparing my arguments as we speak.

The few times i've listened to the new scorps cd i have had it on random play with 4 other discs.....i haven't hated any of the songs so far but they sounded weak in comparison to the other cds i had in the stereo....i guess it needs to be road tested....a week in the car will sort out the men from the boys musically speaking.

at first i thought it was a bit boring but there are some beautiful melodies happening throughout the disc...his soloing is really at a standstill development wise.....but he's Satch and does his thing....and you know its Satch.

Joan Jett - Pure And Simple.

I've always been a sucker for the Runaways. Joan is no exception! Jonny, if you don't know the album, listen to it. It's harder than the 'I Love Rock'n'Roll' era, so it's less poppy. Even though it's still very obvious who Avril Lavigne's main influence is.

Within a decent selection of trades that came in during the past week, my AOTW is a very tough call.

After multiple coin-tossing, I've decided to go with Dreamtale "Ocean's Heart." (beating out a dozen high-end female rock albums mind you, which rarely happens! :wink:

) If ya like Finnish power metal, then chances are you have this in your collection. Top notch power metal at it's best. I'll definitely have to find an original copy soon.
