Neat find, Perrygirl.
So he's a fellow Kerry supporter, eh?
Maybe Perry isn't so bad of a guy, afterall.

Again, nice catch.

How many of you had taken a vacation or medical leave from work and then asked to leave? Not many I'm sure

I don't come here on a daily basis so don't ever expect a quick answer from anything I say, however you need to get off the couch, stop eating pizza pockets, stop watching Regis, Oprah and ET, and "GET A LIFE"...most of you are missing out on the beauty of life itself by logging on here every three to four hours...
I have monitored many post in my 1-year here, and it's sad to see so many of you making this your life... I dare you to go out and smell a rose, take a deep look at it, and try and wonder how it flourished with no help other than itself and some water... don't make this a help center for the lonely, GO OUT AND LIVE LIFE !!!...
I log on for one purpose only, and thats to see how the name Journey has been treated, I have to say i'm not pleased with the way things have went over the past 6-7 years, but I can't help myself clearing-up any wrong-doing to the name Journey... I somehow can't let go of the legacy !
I'm not sure why you felt the need to pop in and say you could shed the light on something and then, instead of actually saying anything about the situation, you criticize people who are asking you to just do what you claimed you could do. I'm sorry, DV, but you have a pattern of doing this--and being quite condescending while you are doing it. You seem to just want everyone to believe you know something or have some inside info, but you never deliver. Anyone who is close enough to know anything that is not already public info about Perry/Journey and their split would not be posting it on the internet. You have zero credibility at this point.

Did anyone else get lost in those 3 paragraphs of bullshit??
Ohhhhhhhh.....How I remember.............LMAO!! Indeed!
Perry UNfaithful?? Don't think so......He/She definitely knows BS when it presents itself.
Wait a minute! Who is the one who comes on these boards making up stories... POSTING AND RUNNING..... Then telling others to get a life? HA! Is this another "been there done that situation," DV, if you catch what I'm saying?
I for one do not believe you have anything!

As for people here hanging on to your every word........ with the exception of a couple of nut jobs who enjoy posting incendiary comments here, people are NOT posting 24--7, as you would like to imply. Maybe it's "YOU" who needs to get a Life.........![]()
P.S. (are you having FUN?)

I'm so glad you think so, but coming from a 3rd rate public defender I guess it makes no difference what you, or anyone on this discussion board thinks of me.
I planned on having some adult conversation with you guys, but a few "Very Impatient" people had to shoot their mouths because they couldn't wait!...
GET A LIFE PEOPLE !!
I can shed some light on the (soap-opera era) between the band and Steve Perry...
stevefan wrote:You made some good points, Tonado..just adding my opinion to this age old question that seems to NEVER go away!
To answer yours, ClassicJrny.....he cut his solo tour short due to a bout of broncitis. It was reported on Entertainment Tonight and in an interview in Canada he does cough an awful lot..his voice seemed a little raw too. I have heard of some people who went to his last shows saying that, yeah, he seemed a little off.
And who knows if he had pressure from the record company, we weren't there. I think he said it himself once where he just got that feeling again, that need..so he made the first steps toward the guys.
waiting again for this to be ripped apart.

Nope, not paranoid..just realistic. I come here to join in on some adult discussions, to put in my 2 cents, but it seems like anytime anyone wants to do that, they get ripped to shreds, meaning what ever we say just isn't right or no one wants our opinions. Too bad too.
And for the record, Moyes has been very gracious and generous in all of the endless questions about Steve. He did say that the tour was cancelled because of broncitis...the reuinion with Journey happened AFTER he recovered and the members of Strange Med. moved on.

But, it wasn't ONLY the hip thing. Steve had displayed a reluctance of singing with the band for years by then. He needed some time off and "to get off the merry go 'round" in 1986 and cut the very succesful ROR tour short. Neal respected that, but expected Perry's self imposed hiatus from Journey to last a few months or 2 to 3 years at most, he didn't expect the band to vanish for 10 loooooong years. Perry also refused to contribute new vocals onto the Time3 Journey Box Set and consequently, "With a Tear" and "Into your Arms" remain only as instrumentals (I kinda like them, that way). In 1993 Perry declined to go to the Herbie Herbert roast and Jon and Neal had to go get Kevin Chalfant to sing in his place and pass themselves off as "Journey". Perry also cut his solo tour short on the "For the Love of Strange Medicine Tour" (man, try saying that 5 times fast). So, here he cuts two tours short, refuses to add new vocals for the fans, won't pay admiration at a roast to the man who is undeniably in some way responsible for his success- the guy is habitually recalcitrant and unreliable. You can't just cut tours short. Do you know how much profit people lose and how it screws over the venues? How many of you had taken a vacation or medical leave from work and then asked to leave? Not many I'm sure
Ok. Well, how many of you have taken time off from work, didn't come back for over a DECADE, and expected NOT to get fired? I mean, come on!
It wasn't just the hip thing, it was the accumulation of all his actions (or lack of them). Jon and Neal were serious about hitting the road, Steve was just stringing them along- In fact, when Perry got involved with Trial By Fire it is purported that the band was already re-grouping with Kevin Chalfant and Gregg Rolie (at least based on what Kevin says). Perry contributed vocals and songwriting talent to make a much publicized new album to prove to the world that he is Journey's frontman and no one else is and that's that. He re-claimed his mantle, refreshed the world's memory that he was the band's lead singer and then threw in the towel once again screwing over the guys. Making it even harder for the guys to replace him with Chalfant, Augeri etc.
The band was offered a couple high profile TV appearnces to play a song or two in promotion of TBF and Perry declined. He claims the camera would have seen his pain. I'm not so sure. I think he could've sat on a stool and sang. Kinda like a VH1 unplugged session. Even *IF* he did hurt himself (and that's a big IF) his prior actions clearly attest that he was not interested in singing for the Journey fans and being Journey's permanent frontman anymore.
So, was he kicked out?
Kinda. But you have to ask yourself, when a singer hasn't stepped foot onto a stage w/ his band in over 10 years, is there really anything to fire him from? They hadn't toured together in years. The band was dead. To many here, it still is. To select others, the Journey is alive and well.
