Screw political correctness for sure!

We obviously don't all come from wherever YOU do perryfaithful. English should be our first language. If you go to France do you think they are going to bend over backward to make sure you get your English? Not a chance!

For the record I think YOU are the one who is out of line here.

Barb.....subject aside here for a moment. Besides being Politically incorrect from where I come, that comment is just plain rude and I did not expect it from you! You argue your case with more class than that usually

Oh, so it's not a fluency problem? I was giving some people the benefit of the doubt--so how is that rude? Then what is the problem when some people cannot understand the obvious meaning of plain English? As for political correctness--don't you know it is not politically correct to be politically correct anymore? Bush won.

Plllleeeeeaaaasssse.

To what bottom-dwelling depths just aren't these people willing to sink to? Is there any?
I swear, they'll do absolutely ANYTHING to engage someone in an argument.
Even dissembling being truly, deeply, offended by a (ultimately G-rated & harmless) misnomered "non-PC" remark.

Barb-Don't waste your breath.

We are dealing with a scary bunch here.

Really? You think we have a bunch of folks here who have a TRUE language barrier? And you are really giving them a break? NOT

Sounds like an all out tasteless insult! Why are you aspiring to be a Tornado Jackson? (who seems to be finding a similar voice in the noble thing) Seriously Barb...didn't think that was your style!

Wanna hear an all out tasteless insult?
You.
Just being here.

-You hate this band, you are not a fan, you have no reason to be here. All you do is try to tear positive Journey threads into negative ones.

You've had more than enough time to get past your indigant feelings about the new lineup. We understand you miss Steve Perry but that is not Neal, Jon, or Augeri's fault nor does it give your pessimistic presence here any exoneration. While it's undertstandable that you feel resentment towards Journey moving on w/out Perry and while it is unfortunate Perry doesn't want to sing for the fans anymore, it's still time you started taking the high road and allow the fans (who choose to follow this lineup) to revel in these fleeting, rare, final occurences of new Journey musical productivity w/out any pessimistic detractors such as yourself.

In other words, let the fans (who choose to) enjoy the music while they can.

Is that so hard?

Sorry Big guy! I DO go to the concerts of the new line up. You do not know who you are talking to....you are JUST talking! You seem to want to argue with someone, anyone and pay no attention to anything REALLY about these people. I have "perry" in my nic! Is that all it takes? How simple of you.

Wanna bet?
You actually went to two total Journey concerts featuring the new lineup.
But, alas, you did not enjoy either one of them.
Taking me right back to my initial point, you are not a fan, so why do you choose to hang around here?

Again, you've had more than enough time to get past your indigant feelings about the new lineup. 'Monker'...You don't know me so do not call me a liar.

I didn't call you a "liar". But, I can if you really want me to...

YOU ARE A LIAR!

See? It's really not that hard.

'Loosely dedicated'??? Errr don't think so.

When you say, "I would love to hear something from the man again, far more so than i wish to hear something new by the present incarnation of the band Journey" It certainly sounds to me that you don't give a smeg if you ever hear anything from Journey again. But, then in this thread you say you are hoping for more Arrival. Sounds like a contradiction to me.

Flew over 3000 miles not once but twice, to see the current band. Not on a vacation either, straight there, and straight back.

I have always said that how many times a person has seen the band, or how much they have traveled to see them, does not mean they are a bigger fan.

Would you fly to the UK to see them? No, didn't think so.

I wouldn't fly anywhere to see any band. So what? Why should I spend hundreds of dollars on a plain ticket, money for a hotel, money for concert tickets, and whatever other cash for whatever else - JUST TO SEE A ROCK BAND? I don't think so.

I am not one of those fans like all you on Backtalk that just because the band puts something out its just sooo good, when you know it isn't. Get the picture??

I don't think the band has put out anything not so good from the time Perry left the band. If I felt they had I would say so. The only song that I don't care much for is "Nothing Comes Close", which I critiqued on BT after Arrival was released. I said it sounded too much like Bad English. I still feel that way today. I love Arrival. The only problem I have with Red 13 is that it is too short.

Perry's stuff would be more Journey sounding than new Journey. Know what i mean?

I don't think Perry comes close to Journey. FTLOSM was as close as he could whip up...Mediocre writing, uninspired performances, a mix on the album that sucked...Not even close to what Journey does, with or without him.

Kevin Chalfant is the only person who comes close to Journey, IMO. He has the songwriting ability, and the abilities as a producer, to release albums with just as much quality as Journey.

Which new line up concerts have you been to?

If you dislike Journey so much, why then have you been to TWO concerts????

Which "people" isn't Noble Cause paying attention to? You are the one who is arguing with Noble Cause. Consistently.

So you have "perry" in your nic. Are you saying you are really a Journey fan? :?

You are calling somebody "simple?" Go back and reread some of your own posts.

Can't wait for some new Journey music!! Bring it on!

We've been waiting for "new Journey music" for years now and it's a fact that most fans don't want it. Neal said that the music goes over the concert goers heads The only people who will rave on it or even listen to it are, for the most part, friends and family of the band, and they have to.
They have to turn down Neals amps and give Augeri more control. Imo, he's just being used to give Neal a reason to noodle around with his guitar.

The "proof is in the pudding." Arrival is all but forgotten by all but a few Journey fans and is all but forgotten by most who remember Journey. The concert fans don't want to hear it.
The whole album is just bad, sappy poetry, without a life of it's own. It's like an assignment handed in for 7th grade English Lit.....IMO

That abreviation being the key word in that post.

When the band played "Higher Place" and "All The Way" in Orlando last year they went down an absolute storm, better than a few of the older tracks in fact.

Post the review, Paul, otherwise it's just your opinion also, or was the storm part of Florida's hurricane disaster? "A Higher Place" may have gone over big then.

An album consisiting of overly sappy, half assed, lifeless, bad poetry, eh? Hmmmm.
Atthistime- are you absolutely certain you haven't confused your Arrival cd with one of your 10,00000000000000 copies of "Steve Perry GH +5 Unreleased"?
I bet you have.

Maybe all the cheers a ruptious applause was just a figment of my imagination then, i apologise.

Were you there by the way?...no, didn't think so.

Why the fuck you people post on a Journey fan thread is beyond me. It would be a much happier place if it was left to real fans of the band to have a mature conversation about the band i've loved all my life...and STILL do. You sure know how to ruin a good thing for others.

Three or four of the Perry G.H. songs are on the radio, after all these years, and one of the songs got Perry into Journey, therefore bringing the band it's success. Thank you Herbie! Perry brought them all the way to a higher place.

I still use my Arrival c.d. It scares the hell out of the crows while hanging near my bird feeder.

Difficult to do so when dickheads are forever ruining perfectly decent and positive threads and turning them into a slagging match, like this one for instance.

Postby Andrew » Wed Nov 10, 2004 8:58 am

I have to agree with paul...well said mate.

I'm fucking bored with the constant bickering between old fans brining down those that chose to continue to support the band.

Give it a rest all of ya, please?

I respect your rights to be eternally pissed at a band for continuing to operate without your idol at the helm, but FACE FACTS - THEY ARE.

Steve Perry is one of the GREATEST vocalists to EVER grace God's earth, but look at the facts - he does not record very often or tour anymore at all.

That's his choice and I'll be very excited the day we get to hear any new music from him.

But for now, I still love Neal's playing, still love Augeri as a singer (having been a fan before he was in Journey) and still think the band has every right to continue on as they are - as MANY other bands are doing.

So - let's respect Perry and his choices - what a legend - and let's respect the present form of Journey - thanks guys for continuing on....
