I don't think it'll be released in the states either.

Even if it does, it'll probably get the Nightwish treatment and get absolutely zero promotion from the radio stations and music channels.

But who knows, Lacuna Coil got their videos aired on MTV2. Maybe WT could do the same with "Stand My Ground."

On release Within Temptation's Mother Earth album got raving reviews in Holland, but it didn't become succesful until at least one year later. At that time the Ice Queen video clip was listed on the video request station, and the station got bombed with calls from viewers requesting that song to play. I don't know how their video actually entered the list though; but I do know that this is (or should I say "was") the only station that gives new talent a chance.

Too bad they are turning more and more into MTV these days. They've added commercial breaks between videoclips, while people still have to pay for the clips to be played, and the past year they've started broadcasting half our soap like programs, kind of like MTVs low budget shows...

As far as I know MTV2 is also a station that pays attention to lesser known acts, so it could work... Still, I wouldn't expect anything soon, as WT mentioned something about to aim for the European market first. Then again, WT have gotten used to songs becoming hitsingles way, way after an album has been released. They may wish to enjoy that again some day. ;)

Pontus Norgren-Damage Done.
Had it for over a year (or longer) and never listened to it other than to skip through the tracks quickly. Mats Leven is a good singer....i've got a few albums with him on them and hardly listened to any of them.

Tali, what style of music is that Pontus Norgren CD? I've only heard him play with Talisman, didn't even know he had released a solo album as well.

Strange as it though may sound, I haven't had much interest in listening to music the past week. When I'm not working, I'm playing video games. Some of the old vintage systems like the NES and Sega Genesis had some pretty catchy music tunes themselves, but nobody takes old video game music seriously, because they're only of MIDI quality or worse.

Childhood memories I guess. Just love those video game tunes. 8) So, my AOTW goes to all the great video game tunes I grew up listening to while wasting thousands of hours playing them.

And if I can't pick that, then I default to Within Temptation "The Silent Force."

"Tales of Masgard" by The Ring is ATOW. The band is power metal sound, and features Pontus of ex Great King Rat and Jackob of ex Jekyl & Hyde on vocals.

Its similar to Talisman i guess (without the Talisman basslines). Pretty decent hard rock...without being groundbreakingly original.

What is this... Pontus week? Both his albums sound interesting, I'm going to check them out!

My AOTW is Nightranger - Midnight Madness. This is one of my favorite albums ever, with Passion Play as my favourite song on this album. If only they hadn't included Let Him Run, this would have been one of those very scarce perfect albums. That song sounds so pale and uninspired to me, especially when compared to the other songs...

My AOTW is Pink Cream 69 "Endangered Species". It's been sitting on a stack of cd-rs I haven't had the time to go through...now I'm wondering why I didn't get to it sooner! :D

Good call on your selection Jonny, but I fan of early PC69. When Andi, who now sings with Helloween, rule the mike.
ATOW is "City" by Strapping Young Lad.
By way Tali, have you heard any of new cd yet by SYL.

Only the song Shitstorm. Based on this song the new SYL is gonna be amazing...more like City than their last cd (SYL) which had its moments but wasn't as amazing as City is from start to finish.

It's a tough call on my AOTW this week. I've been going through a stack of cd-rs I've never had the time to listen to in the past few months.

So I will choose Zinatra "The Great Escape." This has to be one of the best 80's AOR albums I've listened to.

I'm so proud! Another Dutch band is AOTW! :D

My AOTW is Masterplan - Aeronautics. Got it today, had only time to play it once so far, but I really like it. The opening song is sooooo great, but that title... "Crimson Rider" Thankfully they've managed to avoid the word "wave" in the rest of the lyrics!

Jorn is in excellent shape, Uli Kusch still knows how to use his double kick bassdrums, Michael has been rocking in the Headbanger's Ballroom and found a girlfriend. And have I mentioned there is a nine minute epic on the album?

I can't find many dutch bands from the 80's genre. But the few I have listened to (Vandenberg, Zinatra, Sleeze Beez, East Coast) are superb!

Don't know if I've ever heard material from East Coast, but judging from the other bands on your list I think you would quite like Helloïse, and possibly No Exqze as well. Both are quite similar to Vandenberg. Very catchy songs! BTW Helloïse's drummer Ernst van Ee is currently the drummer for Lana Lane on her tour.

Hopefully on Jorn's next project Michael takes a few bullets to the chest and we never hear from him again.

I really want to get this new Masterplan....just trying to find it for a decent price on the net...under $20US.

No Exqze is with Dick Kemper from Vandenberg... You'd probably also like Picture. Especially the first three are good in my opinion (Picture, Heavy Metal Ears and Diamond Dreamer).

My album of the week is my personal Judas Priest favorite, up until Unleashed In The East, Stained Class.

 The memory of the legendary Rock Spirit will live on forever though...

You know, Michael is not mentioned by name in that song, but I just know it's about him! The Headbanger's Ballroom is a place Michael would go to. He has learned a couple of things since his Rock Spirit days though... Despite the utterly cliché lyrics and cliché riffs and solos, I really like Headbanger's Ballroom...

OI Kenny answer my PM.
ATOW is not a cd it a dvd, " Starkers In Tokyo" by Whitesnake. I have had the cd for a long time, so when I saw the dvd for sale in my local pawn shop I must have. I purchase at same time "Live At Boukan" by Dream Theater.
