"STUDIO BOUND: Journey--guitarist Neal Schon, bassist Ross Valory, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, singer Steve Augeri and drummer Deen Castronovo--will be entering the Record Plant recording studio in Sausalito, CA this week to start work on their 13th studio album. It’s their first since 2002’s RED 13 four-song EP and 2001’s full-length ARRIVAL album. Kevin Elson (producer of the band’s multi-platinum ESCAPE, DEPARTURE and FRONTIERS albums, as well as their double-platinum CAPTURED live album) will be at the producer’s helm and Michael Fraser (Metallica, AC/DC, Aerosmith) will be engineering the sessions. The as-yet-untitled album is due out this summer, just in time for a major U.S. tour which the band promises to be their most exciting yet. In recent interviews, Journey guitarist Neal Schon has been hinting at a 3-4 hour show of classic hits as well as some obscure songs spanning their entire catalog (starting with their 1975 self-titled debut and the three other pre-Steve Perry albums). Stay tuned for further details…"

I think with Elson on board, Augeri's vocals are really gonna shine.
He was too muffled for much of Arrival.
However, contrary to popular opinion, I think he sounded loud and clear on Red 13.
