Perhaps this quote might clear things up....
Your source please? ....and it is not that I do not believe you, it is APPROPRIATE & CONSIDERATE to list ones source on a quote
Thank You
When will there be a new Journey album?
”Our CD is going to be recorded this next month here in California. We actually start rehearsals today and we’re gonna rehearse for about seven or eight days, learn all the new material that we’ve written, and then get them down to where we can walk into the studio and play live like we used to.”
Journeynut wrote:don't see why this is a big deal.
Kalodner has been saying for years now that Journey would take Perry on for a tour, a cd or anything. Even Augeri stated that if Perry ever expressed an interest in returning to the band, he would very altruistically vacate his job of a lifetime and give it to Perry.
Taking us right back to the point that it is Perry, himself, who does not want to be a part of this band
I did not say it was a big deal. In fact. I posted it under a thread titled Perry rumor, because I do not know who this guy is who wrote this article or what his source is...but I never heard it put exactly this way before "sharing vocal duties" I cant believe Perry would ever go for that. I can't believe Neal would think that Perry would. Interesting that he is still asking.

You are assuming that Money is the only incentive????

Gotta agree with you on that one!!!

Then don't watch anymore. Not knowing when to quit? Uh, they still tour quite successfully, do a Hell of a lot more business than Perry does, so if you don't like the current band, go the fuck away. Jesus Christ, you people are so sad.

It is a young boys game out there. They need to stay ahead of the old-fart Styx, REO, Survivor spiral and be a band living in the now.

But how do they do this? As Jon Cain said, there is a certain perception out there that they need to break free from. I think the best way to evolve is to have the new material reach the masses and giving the cds out this summer ala Prince is the best way to do just that, I think. It's hard to stay a chart topper when you have been gone from the road for so many years (not too mention losing your former lead vocalist). Even rock bands that never took a decade off and release new material yearly find themselvesl striving to remain relevant these days (i.e. Aerosmith). The TBF reunion brought the band great success. I won't deny that. However, the option of a Perry-reunion simply is not a realistic one. As of now, it's not going to happen. So how do you suggest then, that Journey stays ahead of, as you so aptly put it, the "old-fart Styx, REO, Survivor spiral"?
IMO, telling Journey to hang it up and call it a day is not a strategy for success.
Don't want an argument here. Would love to hear some great thoughts on this topic.
perryfaithful wrote:low d wrote: why else would Perry have total control over the VH-1 Behind the scenes thing
This "herbism" has never been proven, infact I remember an exec from VH1 posting at the old Journey VH1 site that this idea of Perry control over the program was FALSE!

That may be true.low d wrote:I think Steve actually has more money than the rest. He isn't working, because he doesn't have to.

You forgot the rest where low d says "unless they shift gears and groove into something else."
According to Herbie, when they rehearsed before the TBF tour, They had to tune down 2 steps. Perry no longer has the range. Not a slam, just a fact of life for every man at some point.
