Yeah, and I've got this 14th century stone bridge over some ocean frontage in Arizona to sell.

What's so hard to believe that RockN'Deano accidentally referred to Dave as Fred? I'm sorry, but what am I missing here? The guy slipped up, it happens. Why must everything be a big conspiracy with you crazed girlies? First, you insist that me and Yak are the same person and now, apparently according to you all, RockN'Deano is allegedly enacting some grand master scheme to take over the universe.
Get a life.
Oh, for the sweet love of Jesus.
Get a life.

Well, to be honest...It's an OPINION! But it is a valid opinion that Perry in his day was better than Steve. However, I think it is also a pretty valid opinion that when it comes to touring and singing Journey songs today, Steve is better than Perry.

Nothing wrong with that. However, to say "IS" a better singer and performer is difficult to back up since there is NO evidence of that fact today.

This is funny. The fact that Steve has been touring for the past 7 years IS the reason why I can say that Steve is touring better than Perry. Perry is NOT touring. Perry did not complete his tour for FTLOSM. Perry did not complete the ROR tour.PROPERRY wrote:And I think this fact says it all, The Essential Journey Cd went from "gold to platuim" in ONE DAY! That was the day of the certification of gold and platinum. Essential Journey had not been certified up to that point. Someone has to pay for the RIAA to investigate and certify the sales of an album. If you had read EITHER of the threads posted about EJ certification you would have known this. Furthermore, because EJ is a 2-disc set, it only had to sell 500,000 copies to go platinum.PROPERRY wrote:The amazing thing is that Perry has NOT been touring or singing for the past 7 years, and Perry still has the ability "to out do" Augeri who has been singing & touring for 7 years with Journey!!!

Tell me how. How has Perry "outdone" Journey in the past 7 years? Because the GH DVD went "platinum"? Even because EJ went "platinum"? I don't know if it is a great thing to know that more people wish to reminisce, then those who want to discover new material. But that is true...our generation is (mostly) stuck in the past. Look at the re-issues, re-releases, compilations, tour packages featuring artists and music from the 80's. Even stuff that was not "great" in the 80's is doing well now, because the consumer wants to re-live their youth.
BTW, nice to see you Lori. it gives me something to discuss.

As for listening to past music, maybe it's because there isn't much out there today worth listening to, unless you go out of the main stream. Who cares about blond hoochies and white thugs?
PROPERRY wrote:Jrnyman,
I believe that it is MORE than just fans wanting to "relive their youth" or being stuck in the past. There are a lot of people who listen to the music of the 60's (me included), I wouldn't say they were stuck in the past, they just enjoy that particular era of music, that's all, so no difference with Perry/Journey music.
PROPERRY wrote:Although I would say that with Perry it goes beyond fans just wanting to "relive their youth" & just wanting to hear music from the 80's of the Perry years. I think the reason is that FANS CRAVE HIS VOICE & MUSICAL TALENTS!!!
PROPERRY wrote:Look at all the websites for Steve Perry that are on the internet for him!
PROPERRY wrote: All Perry has to do is make an appearance, or do an interview, or go sing a duet with another singer, and the FANS are "right there" ready to buy whatever HE puts out there for them! Even JDK still get lots of questions concerning Perry.
PROPERRY wrote:As far as the EJ cd, it still went platinum in ONE day, and I think it had to do A LOT with Perry's appearance at the WOF!
PROPERRY wrote:As for not finshing his FTLOSM Tour, I'm sure Perry had "good reasons" and from what I read from Moyes Question & Answer Board, Moyes seems to be "supportive of Perry" regarding that issue, so Perry gets no judgement from me.
PROPERRY wrote:Besides Perry toured with Journey for 10 years straight with NO vacations in between times, as I understand it. I believe that is an INCREDIBLY LONG TIME for ANYONE to be on the road touring with a band!!!

Yep.
Give people hell here, falsely accusing current lineup fans of using multiple screen names (like me and Yak), but then turn around and commend Perry-fans of openly admitting to illicitly doing just that.
Does you festering hypocrisy never end?
