I for one am not even going to reply to this stupid-shit "troll." He NEVER brings anything to the table except how he loves U2 and Duran Duran. And, we are ALL guilty of replying to this shithead. I am not going to AFTER this reply.

Look, "hooking up" with a popular band who happens to be "bigger" does not win you the argument, troll. What if I were to go to the U2 Boards(if there was one), and spout about how many more shows and people Bruce Springsteen played to compared to U2(and yes, He will always outsell U2)?? So what? What would that prove?

I will go one step further. Being popular does not make one "better." Britney Freaking Spears outsells U2, but she isn't "better." 50 Cent outsells almost anyone, and he flatout blows. U2 may "outsell" Journey, but I got news for you, U2 is NOT A BETTER BAND.

Let us run down the two bands side by side and compare shall we? And I will do this with Journeys' "Replacement" singer too, who is damned good by the way, and still finding his prime.

Guitar- Are you troll seriously going to tell me "The Edge" or whatever his name is, is better than Neal freaking Schon? If you said yes, you either need to seek help right away, or kill yourself because you are the dumbest fucker on Earth.

Drums- Boy it is real tough for ANY drummer to be any more talented than Deeno. Enough said.

Keys-- U2 hasn't a keyboard player so we will move on. However, Cain can sure write songs can't he?

Bass- Who cares

Lead Singer[/i]- Bono. Yep, he wins. But I think he is a politician stuck in an Irish rock band. He really pisses me off, not by trying to help people, but how he does it. Like I said before, How the Hell does he have the presidents ear? If I were a world leader, I'd tell him "go tour for free and donate all your money, then come back to me and we'll talk." Fat chance. Augeri isn't close, and I wouldn't expect any "new lead vox" to be. However, and hopefully ALL will agree, When Perry was the man, Bono was his bitch. Perry could sing better, write better, perform better and sell better. He couldn't kiss all the presidents and prime Ministers of the world's asses better though.

So, troll, I took an "over the hill, washed up, dinosaur band" and effectively compared them to U2, and I really believe that "Journey II" is a more talented band.

Are you still on your knees troll?????[/i]

Rock 'n Deano. Why do you have to resort to personal attacks on me? Why do you have to swear while responding? I am stating an opinion on Journey's lousy venue sites such as Buffalo Chip and Sioux Empire. Is it my fault that Paul McCartney and U2 are popular enough to play the best venues in the world, while Journey has decided to play casinos, fairs, and campgrounds?

Springsteen is not more popular than U2, and in my opinion attending a 4-hour Springsteen concert is a painful experience. Remember though. That's only my opinion.

By the way, Steve Smith is a better drummer than horrible Dean. He should be forced to play in a Bad English tribute band.

Don't blame me when the Journey album fails and Journey doesn't get into the rock 'n roll hall of fame.

Why is it stupid? Troll put forth his man Bono, and spewed garbage about he is king of the world, blah blah blah. Look, I can write intelligently, and use nice, eloquent words too, it's just when that little bastard tries to stew up the hornets nest, which he has done, I need to fight him on things. My point was, so U2 is bigger now? Why gloat? In the 80's Journey WAS bigger, WAS better, and was more popular...Again, why is that a stupid statement?

Rolling Stone magazine called U2 the band of the decade in the 1980s. I think Rolling Stone magazine called Journey "Corporate Rock."

I was only comparing concert venues of a successfull band like U2 to a struggling band like Journey. Facts are facts. Journey was super popular at one time and played the best venues. Now, they are at Buffalo Chip in 2005.

So troll, we'll talk about U2 in another 20 years, after a ten year hiatus and after Bono leaves the band while the rest go on with a new singer!

Until then, it is apples and oranges.

Hi Dave,

We don't have to talk about U2 at all. However, U2 is in the HOF, while Journey will most likely never be.

No Dave, it's not apples and oranges. Instead, U2 belonged in the HOF on their first year of eligibility, while Journey...well we all know where their direction has taken them.

Many of you seem angry that I am giving an opinion on the Real 2005 Journey. Sorry that I don't blindly accept Journey's direction.

See, this is why troll is an idiot.

Rolling Stone is so unbelievably biased from music to politics. They have always hated Journey(I think because of the poppyesque Perry era), but have always loved political music. Springsteen can write a song about his dog, taking a heaping shit on the Whitehouse lawn, and Rolling Stone would give it a ***** rating. Same with U2. And Dylan, et al.

troll, don't let your hummingbird brain control your elephant mouth.

Deano, Rolling Stone didn't have to give U2 the thumbs up, while giving Journey the thumbs down. What about all the other important rock magazines that praise U2 and not Journey?

Two words about Journey: Buffalo Chip.
Three words about U2: Madison Square Garden.

I agree that U2 should not continue without Bono. But they could try and I would give it an open ear. I have nothing against U2. I do not consider the Edge to be as talented as Neal Schon. I do not care for Bono's vox as much as Steve's and obviously not as much as Perry's. But U2 are a very successful band. They just have many different circumstances/opportunities than Journey. Some bands do become almost legendary...the Beatles, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, the Eagles, Elvis, Bruce Springsteen, I am sure there are others. U2 is close to this, they are a band that can do no wrong in the eyes of mainstream media. Journey has NEVER been that type of band, and never will.

No, you have every right to respond. I have the skill of getting responses wherever I go. However, I don't want to put down Journey anymore. Let them do what they want to do without me complaining.

They have been in the business for 32+ years, so they will be ok with whatever place they play.

I'm glad Journey is adding "real concert venues" instead of just playing at casinos, fairs, campgrounds, and car washes.

Seems Journey has added a few dates. My problem is not necessarily with the venues but the lack of western state dates. Only one show in the Bay Area (Mountain winery) :? , come on this is their home they should easily be playing one or both of the amphitheaters. It was only a couple years agon they were headlining a festival show (The Bone Bash) in the area.

I really hope they ad some more shows to the tour. No Nevada dates, come on guys. This sounds like the show I have been dying to see, covering all of the years and musical styles. I really don't want to have to drive half way down the state to see them at some fair. Lets add some dates please.

There are supposed to be almost 60 dates in the tour, I believe. So I am sure you will still see more added. Have they added any Texas dates yet? I know they will...

Journey wil be at the Jones Beach Amphitheatre in Wantagh, N.Y.
08/28/05.

It's one of the finest outdoor venues on the East Coast & wouldn't qualify at all as a tour stop from hell.
