Aside from the fact it rocks, Kim Wilde is so hot. I can't believe she looks better than ever.
LOVE HER. :)

Kim Wilde is definitely hot! Back in the 80s she took over from ONJ as the dream girl for English blokes of my generation.

I didn't know there was a new mix of "You Came". The original version was my favourite Kim Wilde song...even though I hated everything else the Stock, Aitken, Waterman production team released in that era...

Great track, with poignant lyrics! Have you heard the cover done by Joe Lynn Turner on the Maiden tribute album Numbers From The Beast? A great tune, and it really lets you hear Turner sing something really hard and heavy which he rarely does.

Nope. Haven't heard that one.

I certainly prefer this track over "Aces High", which I've always thought was a bit overrated. Not bad, just overrated compared to some of the other stuff on that "Powerslave" album.

I saw Iron Maiden on the "Powerslave" tour...and to be honest I almost fell asleep in my seat.

I love this one though:

I love the intro to that song..."Information. We want information!"

NP: Now Your Ships Are Burned ~ Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force

This tune reminds me a lot of "The Sails of Charon" by the Scorpions, which Yngwie also does a great version of on his "Inspiration" album.

I thought that was next to impossible to fall asleep to Iron Maiden  Still, Powerslave isn't my favourite either, it's probably Somewhere In Time (Wasted Years is one of my alltime favourite Maiden tunes).

Dave - have you ever seen the show that was sampled from? It was a cult hit in the UK in the late 1960s called...unsurprisingly enough..."The Prisoner". I'm not sure if it was ever big in the States - although there was a parody of it in "The Simpsons".

Ah, the mighty 'Tage. Good selection.

NP: Breakdown ~ David Coverdale...from a decent solo album just prior to the original Whitesnake lineup.

Yeah, that was Zachary Stevens. Great singer but he didn't have that high, shrieky falsetto that Jon Oliva had. Doesn't fit it as well. I actually like the era from "Gutter Ballet" through current day better, though. Anyway, Stevens is no longer with the band. Oliva was the lead singer again for their last studio effort "Poets & Madmen" (2002) and they have another new lead singer by the name of Damond Janiya. He toured with them on the P&M tour but I didn't catch them then so I don't know what he sounds like.

Yes - he's more restrained than Jon Oliva....but I loved how over the top Oliva used to be.

I haven't heard Jon Oliva's Pain. Other than Trans-Siberian Orchestra, I'm not familiar with their side projects like I am for Journey or even Kansas, to some degree. The only side project I'm familiar with is one of Chris Caffery's solo albums (can't remember the title). It was basically a terrible, death metal-type album. Horrible vocals. Hate those "cookie monster" vocals.

Anyway, that's a fitting name for an Oliva project. The guy writes downright painful, emotional, personal lyrics. Just listen to "Streets: A Rock Opera". Good stuff.
