I already knew that.
Debatable. I would've like a little longer resume than 5+ years.

Some pro singers don't do as many gigs in their lifetimes as he crammed into his professional career.
And many of them didn't sing in that range for more than five minutes without damaging their vocal chords.
He was amazing to perform to the standard he did so many nights on the trot for so many years.
I think you may be underestimating his achievement.
I know she's not a rock singer, but she has one POWERFUL voice - Dame Shirley Bassey. She is lauded for still having a voice and, ok, she can still belt out the James Bond Themes at the age of seventy or whatever, but she does maybe six shows a year.

I'll take his voice from 1981-1986 over anyone else's.

That's six more than Perry does.

Actually, I was being an SA. I have not read this in its entirety, but this did catch my eye....
(The author is referencing Francis Albert Sinatra).....

His voice may not have been everyone's preference, but he had pipes and vocal control like no other. He would actually show up at the studio in the morning, AFTER boozing and partying it up all night, and nail the recording in one take.

To be fair his lazy drawl was probably suited to performing after a night on the town. Its not like he was performing any kind of vocal gymnastics after all.

Perry's my boy, but Sinatra may be one of the most unique and inspiring vocalists ever. Way too often imitated....never duplicated.I'm Italian – I HAVE to feel this way.
