SusieP...

I believe (i may be wrong) that Talisman's 7 record had already been declared as their swansong upon release, and JSS wanted to just take 'em through one last farewell tour. Talisman was already over, BUT, JSS had to postpone the farewell tour due to his Journey involvement.

Correct me if I'm wrong, peoples.

You know, just when I was finally starting to put my disappointment with Neal Schon and Jon Friga away about the jSS thing, Neal has to go and open his freakin' mouth again.
I realize I don't know any of the band members personally, and have never met any of them (yet,) I can't no longer be one of those fans who will turn a blind eye toward
this situation and say, "it's all about the music!" It's all about us as fans giving our hard earned money to a group of band members who don't know how to treat business associates.

I've only spoken to Jeff briefly on this board, but I've heard too many good things about the man from so many different sources, that I find it hard not to side with JSS.
Too many inconsistencies with what Neal throws at us, and at least Jeff has always maintained his side of things from day one. I certainly hope someday Jeff gets an opportunity
to tell his side of the story without any legal consequences.

In regards to Steve Augeri, the man was left dangling on the end of a stick and left to take the blame for tapegate. What's funny through all of this is that no matter what, there
will still be fans who will continue to worship Neal and Jon blindly through it all. It's one thing just to be into Journey for the music, but knowing just the bit of what us fans have
learned through various avenues of media, it's hard to listen to music from this band without thinking about what's probably going on behind the scenes.

Arnel Pineda might want to make sure plan "B" is in the works just in case.

Thanks, Prog. I just wondered.

Neal hasn't learned diplomacy, tact or discretion has he?
I haven't got my copy of Classic Rock yet, but I can't wait to read this interview in it's entirety.

Neal strikes again.

although the band members had discussed the 7 CD to possibly be the final release, this was never announced officially until late 2006 when Andrew's interview with Jeff and Journey was published. So when Jeff got the call from Journey July 2006, he knew Talisman was at it's end . A year later I posted my thoughts on Talisman and if Jeff made the right decision to give up on Talisman. 3 days later Jeff was booted and backstabbed officially.

Yep and JSS has to go through it all again.

Thanks Neal!
I like a guy who always thinks of the consequences before he speaks or acts.

This is what you get when someone is surrounded by 'Yes men' and arse kissers all their life and is lacking in the consideration for others department.

But at least someone [JSS] stood up to him this time and via a lawsuit has said, 'you just can't treat people this way and get away with it.'

I am gobsmacked that he has made these comments in spite of this.
I really am.

I can see why Perry had to take control of things and be a hard ass. How else could you deal with somebody that constantly talks shit to the press about the first thing that crosses his mind and doesn't care how anything he says comes across? He does more damage to Journey's image every time he opens his mouth.

Think about this.....Neal portrayed every singer Journey hires as the greatest, then there is some problem and they are fired and trashed by him. Same story with EVERY single singer, even going back to Fleishman.

SusieP, I think that's probably exactly what he would hope we would do, and many of us here have chosen to do. Unfortunately, at this point, it's not ALL about the music. When you look behind the music, you see the man, and it's not a pretty sight. :( :?

He doesn't have to deny it anymore. He just blames the entire thing on Augeri and the rest of them take no responsibility at all. I think Neal's the one with the yeast infection.

As far as Soto....he saved their asses when things got close to imploding. If Friga didn't like him, he wasn't going to say anything while they still needed him, so they could use him and just ditch him later. Tapegate was being discussed on a radio station by two different radio personalities (AM & PM) here. News was starting to travel and they had to do something fast. Enter Soto.

If there is a gag order, Soto should be sending Neal's latest interview to his attorney. Nobody deserves to be gagged and paying for a big mouth more than Neal. He throws shit at every singer they've ever had. I guess it makes him think he's cool, but it just makes him look like a major tool. (hmmm...maybe Soto can put that to music)

So if Journey wants to move on and be a force to contend with, why hang on to the dirty dozen. Move on.. Build a new future. Why sound a like singers to replace Perry. Get a new sound..

They know what to play to make money. Think Wal-Mart and concert promoter are gonna pay for the new stuff with a whole new sound? Think again.

Well, we are only seeing one side of the hill, so we don't know if there is dirt on the other side. None of them have broken into my house or raped my cat so I'll get over it. Being mad for long isn't very productive so I won't waste my time. Mean while on the other end of the spectrum Perry still needs to get off of his ASS and put out a product. Here we are trying to give that f'kr our money and he doesn't want it, the irony of it all

Those that fell in love with the Steve Perry sound
will always have that sound in our hearts
For me these past 10 years
Journey has been going through the motions

Then they found a spark
Someone who could take them from the dark
Rekindle the flame & light up the sky.

Take us higher upon wings unfettered
but they cast him aside.

That's just me.
but I now believe
that's just the way it was meant to be.

My cousin got fired a few days before 9/11
She worked in the World Trade Center
If she had not lost her job she probably would have lost her life

You just never know!

Jeff is free despite the lousy circumstances

I still wish them well
I don't want to allow
their shady ways to affect my light

They have another gem now
Another deserving man
I just believe
Everyone has the right to live there life.
We can't fault them for that.
But that Journey for me ended a long time ago
So it really matters not

Life goes on
& if we are lucky
we walk right into
something even greater
than we thought we left behind

Why not? Van Halen did it, Boston, Queen's doing it? And we all know how well getting a Michael Hutchence sound alike for INXS turned out.....after the initial buzz.

I've been wanting this to happen since I became a Journey fan. Generations and the 2005 tour looked like a great opportunity to do this, but that got squandered.
