I don't get it, Neal flaps his gums a little and all of a sudden everyone seems to want a new sound again. Is Revelation suddenly a lesser piece of work or would a return to the days of prog be enough for all to be forgiven?
Playing devil's advocate here but maybe, just maybe Neal and the the other members of the band assumed that management had already told Jeff he was out after communication apparently broke down between them and a decision was made. Surely it's remotely possible that the error lies with Journey management not informing Jeff as soon as possible rather than him hearing from a third party as a done deal and possibly as a result of band members thinking it would by then be common knowledge and talking openly about it.
If Neal and other members of the band had made themselves more accessible via this forum or through other media this whole situation might not feel so one sided, as it is all we have is opinion and hearsay. I'm not surprised that Jeff is alleged to have sued the band, that's good business sense after he was declared the new lead singer and then unceremoniously bumped but lets face it we've probably all been in situations with people where we would rather not have to deal with them anymore. That's life I guess. I am just no longer buying that Journey band members are quite as bone headed and spiteful as we would like to believe.
I'm not choosing sides on this, screw that - I'm just going to assume there was much more to this than we will ever know and continue to enjoy the output of both Journey and JSS and hope that neither of them chose to re-invent themselves musically anytime soon.
Revelation for platinum baby!
