Whoa, whoa, whoa! I'm not a huge Mr. Big fan, but you can't be lumping Sheehan and Gilbert in with Bang Tango.

I realize Sheehan doesn't have the ability of a Ross Valory , but they had some good songs, and Eric Martin is a solid vocalist. "Addicted to that Rush," "Daddy, brother, lover and little boy," and "Colorado Bulldog" are all solid songs.

Mr. Big was just as talented as Journey! Pull your Hannah Montana cd out and throw in a Mr. Big cd........they had some great songs. Lyrically they got better as time went on, just as Journey did. Look at some of Journey's earlier material too.

Neal is my favorite guitarist, period. However, Paul Gilbert is one of the world's most technically accomplished guitarists and Billy Sheehan may just be the best bassist in the business.

Honestly, I enjoy Schon's playing so much. He's inspired my own style and is a great writer. But, Paul Gilbert crushes him technically. Absolutely kills him.

Go look up "Technical Difficulties" or "Scarified" by Racer X, SJ. Paul Gilbert is incredible and renown in the guitar community for being a virtuoso.

And comparing Sheehan to Ross ain't even a fair fight.

Haven't listened to enough Eric Martin/Mr. Big. Obviously MB isn't as good as Journey but to berate their musicianship is asinine. Sheehan and Gilbert are two of the finest in the world on their respective instruments.

Well, faux pas or not (I still haven't listened to them )... I could see the logic in wanting to do that with the package. New singer, classic band, marketing schemes, familiarity to consumers... I think that was actually a slick move, pretty smart if you look at it unbiased and from an album pushing standpoint.

But ugh, again... what's next? A re-record of "Spaceman"?

Well, faux pas or not (I still haven't listened to them )...

Me either. And no plans to.
I got a friend who's bugged me several times to listen to the redone version of BGTY and I fucking refuse. I love the originals on those songs too much. I don't want to deal with the retreads at all because I think that whole thing was a poor poor idea. Major faux pas.

But ugh, again... what's next? A re-record of "Spaceman"?
