I can sympathize with him. I get acid reflux every once in a while at night and it can burn like a mother.

Use the extension for Firefox if that is your main browser. I think that one works best. I want to start messing around with the google browser that began beta today.

I've been trying it out. It's pretty neat. It doesn't have any addons yet though.

How hard is that to fix?

Take two Tums and call me in the morning.

Yeah... sure... it's reflux... okay... cancel a few shows over too much pizza last night...

Bronchitis wouldn't be mentioned on the venue's website if it wasn't stated that way by the band.

It's a lot easier to save face to cancel a show because of the lead singer's bronchitis, rather than his acid reflux...

Augeri disease:

Wiki wrote:A vocal cord nodule (or "Nodules of vocal cords") is a nodule or mass of tissue that grows on the vocal folds (vocal cords). Typically this mass will appear on the anterior one-third of the vocal fold, where contact is most forceful.

A vocal cord nodule reduces or obstructs the ability of the vocal folds to create the rapid changes in air pressure which generate human speech. Symptoms include hoarseness of speech, painful speech production, frequent vocal breaks and reduced vocal range. Females are most likely to develop nodules.

The nodules appear as symmetric swellings on both sides of the vocal cords. The cause of these formations are usually strenuous or abusive voice practices such as yelling and coughing. Persons who are often susceptible are those who use their voice constantly in a loud environment. Examples include teachers, cheerleaders, politicians, actors, musicians and singers.

Vocal cord nodules, although they can certainly impair one's speaking and singing ability, rarely harm one's general health. Indeed, the psychological trauma of being diagnosed with nodules -- a trauma affecting those especially whose professional success depends on consistently producing a rich and powerful vocal tone (e.g. singers, actors, broadcasters) -- typically dwarfs the limited systemic and even otorhinolaryngological effects.

Treatment, or voice rehabilitation, usually involves vocal training, speech therapy, and, occasionally, vocal rest. In rare cases, surgery may be required. Removal of vocal cord nodules is a relatively safe and minor surgery. However, those who sing professionally or otherwise should take serious consideration before having surgery. While the patient is subdued under general anesthesia, long thin scissors and knives are used to remove the nodules. The best preventative steps seem to be wrapped up in the study of vocology, the science and practice of voice habilitation.

Symptoms of vocal nodules include vocal fatigue and hoarseness or breathiness. Hoarseness or breathiness that lasts for more than two weeks may signal a voice disorder and should be followed up with an appointment with ENT.

If he had bronchitis, they should have cancelled a good 2 weeks of concerts. There is no way to get better from that without complete rest. Certainly singing and screaming at the top of your lungs every other night would not speed up the healing process. Acid reflux? I'm pretty sure with the proper medication, which I'm sure he has, and a few days rest he can be almost 100% quickly.

My health physician told me under no circumstances should I ever take Tums, Maalox or Pepto Bismol. Those products are a short term solution and actually aid in destroying stomach harmony more so than improve it. I was told that Pepcid and Zantac would help and that Prilosec is another good option over time. Diet and a lack of stress are key. You need to eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat dairy, and fish. However, you need to avoid acidic vegetables. Arnel should completely stay away from oranges, lemons, grapefruit, pineapple and tomatoes. They contain too much acid. This might sound crazy, but he should also look into meditation techniques to relieve stress. It will help him tremendously.

whether bronchitis or acid reflux, it doesn't change the fact that both these conditions have tremendous effect on an individual. I wouldn't choose either conditions.

Not a good sign.. You can not believe what you hear coming from the Journey camp.. It could be acid reflux, vocal fatigue or anything... Arnel is going to "follow the rules" and tell us what they tell him too I would think.. Arnel seems of good morals from what I have read of him. He might be telling the truth in his shoutbox.. Question is where did the Bronchitis shit come from if its only acid reflux ? Whatever is going on I hope Arnel recovers fast and protects his voice.. Arnel, if you read this your voice is way more important that Journey. Dont be another casualty. Perry set the bar very high so please dont break your neck trying to jump over it...

If they try to make you go on anyway tell em to get fucked...

My sympathies to Mr Pineda and all the concert ticket holders for this show.
I hope he is given the time to heal so it doesn't hurt him further.
May the folks planning on catching a concert of theirs be able to see one
in the near future......hoping for the best to all.

Acid Reflux is not bad heartburn...its far more serious... I have it and without my meds I have attacks in my stomach along with that bad heartburn feeling. There are different degrees of it too. Acid Reflux is a disease, and no matter what you eat you can suffer. There is a valve like thing between your esophagus and your stomach and the fucker doesn't work right if you have Acid Reflux disease. Tums and Maaloz, etc are silly things for when you eat spicy food. You do need meds like Protonix to actually begin healing the esophagus and stop the valve from allowing acid up.

The show is postponed until December 3rd. I take this to mean that they have plans to extend the tour?

Not necessarily. That may just be the most convenient time to reschedule on the venue's end of it. Or possibly between the two parties... or more likely between all 3 acts and Verizon.

I just heard a boot of BGTYS from Aug 23.. Arnel sounds like his voice is giving out on him.. This may have been a prelude to getting sick.. Dunno. I will tell you that it sounds like fatigue pure and simple... It really sounds bad and a feel for him. I hope his voice isnt giving up already..... If so they should really just call it a day.... Arnel and his backstory is responsible for a lot of Journey's resurgence. Its a great story and pulls at the heart.. I am sure this has swayed a lot of people to attend shows that they may not have went too otherwise...
