Has anyone else heard about this Spanish language ad by Obama's campaign?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkzvFAOcw6I

I don't speak Spanish but I've heard about twice now today. Apparently, on Rush Limbaugh's show, he did a comedy bit about Mexico's inherently racist immigration laws and made it sound as if those law were in force here. The point was to make it sound like the laws really are, which is racist. Obama has now taken this comedy bit and done an ad about it that makes Limbaugh out to be racist for this and then somewhow ties these views to McCain. It's an outright lie.

You must be mistaken, Dave. Obama is the Messiah and does not do dirty campaigning. Only republicans do that. ;)

This is about as dirty as it gets, purposely taking something like this and lying about it and, not only that, but applying it to McCain, who had nothing at all to do with it. It wouldn't surprise me if Media Matters jumps on this story and tries to make it look like Limbaugh really believes that should be the law here.

Don't endorse cyber breaking and entry, but why is she using private email accounts to conduct the peoples's business..hmmm?

Didn’t ignore it, just find your selective outrage hard to take seriously when Bush fired General after General - effectively extending troop deployment, in addition to coming out against the troop leave extension bill advocated by Jim Webb.
Most damning yet, according to Woodward’s new book, when the war was all but lost by even the most objective standard, Bush was still claiming we held the upper hand and simply had to stay.
Obama may be speaking out of turn, but he isn’t dictating policy on the backs of the country’s servicemen.

As I understand it, she wasn't. There was a personal exchange with the lieutenant gov, but no official business.

I read though the emails… ALL OF THEM… before I posted, and what I concluded was anticlimactic, there was nothing there, nothing incriminating, nothing that would derail her campaign as I had hoped, all I saw was personal stuff, some clerical stuff from when she was governor…. And pictures of her family

I cannot believe how many people won't vote for Obama just because he is black. I was talking to an old schoolmate at a hardware store yesterday, and he straight up told me "I would never vote for a n***** for as long as live." I just looked at him and shook my head. I am sure that at least 20% of the population feel the same way. Let's face it... it wasn't too long ago that blacks couldn't even sit in the front of the bus. I guess it takes a long time to change cultural bigotry. Just look at the way women are still treated as possessions in the Middle East and Africa.

I'd dare to guess that if Obama wasn't an African American, he would easily be beating McCain by a full 10 points. Hopefully people are sick enough of what the Bush/McCain camp has done to the economy that they overlook the bigotry get those bums out of power.

I'd want to slug that moron in the face. However, there's probably just as high a percentage of blacks who are voting for Obama BECAUSE he is black and against McCain BECAUSE he is white. In my opinion, it's probably a wash between those two groups. So there you go.

There will never be a measurable "victory" in Iraq. We will need to remain there indefinitely.

The real cost is the grievous wound Bush's policies and illegal war inflicted upon our standing in the world, and that is one time will never heal.

Yeah, you know it's a blatant lie when ABC calls it out as false. Obama's desperate and flailing.

I got this in an email.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I ' m a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....

If you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different."

However, grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, you're a quintessential American story.

If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic "Muslim" (who, by the way, is a Christian).

However, name your kids Willow , Trig and Track, you're a "maverick".

Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

However, attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.

If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law Professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district withover 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs Committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

However, if your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive and next in line behind a man in h is eighth decade of life.

If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.

However, if you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and then left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a true Christian.

If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

However, if, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.

If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's.

However, if your husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA , your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now.

I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Holy crap!

I agree, however. I don't think McCain is any less great a man than Obama. But these points substantiate the belief held by many that the Big Right Machine brainwashes many Americans into believing things that are not true.

I think a worse problem is the other 80% that ARE voting for him because he's black......

They were among prestigious company.
So did the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and a procession of distinguished generals extending from the White House lawn to the Washington unemployment office.

The war and its revolving pretenses have been founded on simplifications for far too long (Saddam = Hitler et al.)
Its aftermath and the exact role of the Surge is proving no exception.

What of Moqtada al-Sadr's ceasefire?
What of ethnic cleansing?
As Bob Woodward recently noted, what of the new top secret targeting technology that is being compared to the invention of the tank?

All this has done little to deter the Right from claiming the Surge as some sort of Republican-owned brainchild, when in truth, it was a hail mary pass greeted with little fanfare outside the Oval Office.

General Petraeus said, and I quote, that the war could only be won POLITICALLY, not militarily.

The current Iraqi government is in greater chaos than ever before. The "victory" that is "in sight" will not be a reality unless that changes, and there is no reason to suggest it will.

So much for responding to the valid statements put forth in Rick's post, huh? How are you guys going to distract the masses this time?

Those lines of parody are really not that far removed from some of Limbaugh's more outrageous sincere rhetoric over the years.
Swap them out and the ad is just as effective.

I want to say "DUUUHHHHHHHHH!!!!" but that wouldn't be polite...

Truthfully, that statement is obvious but that political victory won't be possible if the military peace isn't kept, of which the troop surge is a large part.

When it comes to Limbaugh, there is a wealth of ignorance to choose from.
Not sure why they'd resort to something that was clearly satirical.
