Hmmm...Most of the other polls still show Obama with a 5+ lead.

The problem for McCain is that he trails significantly in the swing states. Unless he can capture Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, he doesn't stand a mathematical chance.

btw i wasn't "whining".

anyway... palin is a tough cookie & can prolly take whatever is tossed her way. it just shows what a classy/strong lady she is.

i bet that drives some CRAZY! seeing she hasn't broken.

is it REALLY that important how much she spent on clothes, hair, make up, etc? is that a reason not to vote for the mccain ticket?

Stop whining. All this "Why is everyone picking on poor Sarah" nonsense is embarrassing! Also, what you're saying is flat out false. It seems to me that it wasn't very long ago when John Edwards got a whole lot of shit for getting a $400.00 haircut, so your theory is simply false! Also, I'm quite sure that McCain, Obama, and Biden haven't spent $150K, between all three of them, on clothes and haircuts!

Somewhat on topic. This is just another shining example of how socialism is and always will be an abject failure.

The 'Trophy Kids' Go to Work

When Gretchen Neels, a Boston-based consultant, was coaching a group of college students for job interviews, she asked them how they believe employers view them. She gave them a clue, telling them that the word she was looking for begins with the letter "e." One young man shouted out, "excellent." Other students chimed in with "enthusiastic" and "energetic." Not even close. The correct answer, she said, is "entitled." "Huh?" the students responded, surprised and even hurt to think that managers are offended by their highfalutin opinions of themselves.

If there is one overriding perception of the millennial generation, it's that these young people have great -- and sometimes outlandish -- expectations. Employers realize the millennials are their future work force, but they are concerned about this generation's desire to shape their jobs to fit their lives rather than adapt their lives to the workplace.

NBC's latest poll has Obama ahead by almost 10 points.

No. The fact that she is intellectually bankrupt and fucking clueless is THE REASON not to allow that jackass anywhere near The White House! She can keep spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on her hair and makeup. She can also keep charging the taxpayers of Alaska to fly her children around the country on "official business" (shouldn't these children be in school?). None of it will matter, because I firmly believe that the 4 nutbags on here who think Palin is competent to lead our country are not a representative sample of how most of the country feels, and more importantly, how they will vote!

sarah will donate the clothing to charity after the campaign, what a gal!

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14840.html

i don't give a rat's ass how much of a clothing allowance palin has. what bugs me is they sell her as "one of us" and clearly that is not good enough to be veep. and let us not forget the "elite" label placed on obama by the mccain campaign. elite my ass!

quite frankly i'm tired of her and her lack of knowledge. you'd think she would've figured out the role of vp by now. the past few days have been comical with mccain/palin tho and i am appreciative of the laughs. i know the campaign trail must be exhausting and most will slip up, so it's par for the course and nothing too major.

If you are including me in this "4 nutbags" comment, with all due respect, kiss my ass. I don't believe I've ever said she's competent to run this country. I do think she's MORE competent than either Biden or Obama but that, by no stretch of the imagination, makes her competent ENOUGH to run the country.

Ordinarily, no, but considering how the McCain camp has taken aim at what Obama drinks, reads, and wears as proof positive of elitism, yes, it matters.
It further matters, because Palin's image is intertwined with her public perception as an everyday soccer mom/joe sixpack.

Had Obama done this, every single Republican on this board would be calling for his immediate withdrawal from the race.

Which, as far as I am aware, was paid for with his own money - not campaign donors.
That's the main reason this Palin story has any legs.

Dude, I can't tell half the time who you are talking to because you don't quote half the time...Regardless, you really think anyone would call for Obama to withdraw from the race over spending money on clothing? It may be stupid but it's not illegal.

Like most political emails, this has all the newsvalue of penis enlargement spam.
If you haven't clicked 'delete' by the time Card cites Townhall.com as a factual source, you certainly should by the time he says Bush never linked Iraq to 9-11.

As has been pointed out several times during this thread, this was a completely bi-partisan event. No matter how much you want your party to escape blame, it just isn't going to happen. The following articles show that there was plenty of blame to go around.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/792/
http://www.spectator.co.uk/print/the-ma ... unch.thtml

Also, a telling statement from another article, quoting a Democratic Congressman...

In the meantime, let us praise Congressman Artur Davis of Alabama, who confessed this week: "Like a lot of my Democrat colleagues I was too slow to appreciate the recklessness of Fannie and Freddie when in retrospect I should have heeded the concerns raised. I wish my Democrat colleagues would admit that we were wrong." I fear Congressman Davis will not go far with this attitude – but at least he will be able to look at himself in the mirror.

Back during the primaries, I got a call from the RNC asking for money. The guy on the phone said "Mr Benooti (they always fuck up my name), which Democrat would you least like to see in office, Hilary Clinton or Barrack Obama?"

My response was "John McCain"

The phone call ended very shortly after that, but needless to say, the kid didn't have a retort prepared for that...
