One of the more oblique instances of karma cleansing there.

If the pain gets too severe, I'll send Delta Burke and Rosie O'Donnell over to sit on your face. That should provide significant enough tortured diversion.

ZOGBY SATURDAY: Republican John McCain has pulled back within the margin of error... The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday, one day, polling. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all...
I've been saying all along that McCain should have been at every race. Palin would have went over extremely well too. He should have had ads in battleground states during those exciting races in circles. Or maybe he did.

He did. Palin's husband was at the Martinsville NASCAR race a few weeks ago.

Who hasn't? There is a VERY strong probabality that the next President won't be what he claims to be, either. It's politics! As I've said before, being completely full of shit s a pre-requisite to get into the profession! Politics has NEVER been an honest person's game and never will be! I'm not sure that even the Mafia has as many corrupt people!

"Every year in March I come here to organize the Arnold Classic, which is all about building the body and pumping," Schwarzenegger said.

"That's why I want to invite Senator Obama because he needs to do something about those skinny legs. I'm going to make him do some squats.
"And then we're going to make him do some biceps curls to beef up those scrawny little arms. But if he could only do something about putting some meat on his ideas."

Arnold just ended any chance of an Obama victory. LOL. What a hangover cure this AM, good ol Arnie

I actually like Arnold and thought he was fantastic on the stump for McCain. The problem McCain has is that it's a day late and a dollar short. I think if he could have brought some of this star power out sooner, he'd have a fighting chance. Unfortunately, the Republican camp has very little star power and doesn't have a Bill Clinton to campaign for them.

Clinton, his personal shortcomings aside, is one of the biggest personalities to ever occupy the Office. Just incredible. I really like the man, regardless of what I think of his policies. So yes, some definite "star power" there.

Arnold is just hilarious, love the guy. It's too bad he, or at least someone with his same moderate views, would never get through primaries. Doesn't happen on either side of the aisle

I'm not sure Arnold's politics matter much, in the national sense, because he simply isn't eligible to run for President!

The thing about Bill, IMO, is that while his presence may help BO in some ways, it seems to me that his message is empty because his heart can't really be there, rooting for BO. I understand he's doing what is expected of him by his party, but it's obvious to me that he really doesn't care much for BO. So I have to wonder how much benefit BO will really get from him.

It's good to see the race tightening, but I'm afraid for the outcome of this race. I'm terribly afraid of an Obama/Biden presidency, and I'm equally afraid of how many in our country will react if McCain/Palin pull it off. Either way I expect multiple court battles. It's a shame our country has sunk to such levels. I think the controversy of this election will make 2000 look like a picnic in the park. :(

It's been that way for a while...it's a common complaint and it's stretched out of the arnel/racisim/suzie bullshit....I think, handled differently, we'd still have that atmosphere here...and I also consider my own contributions to the above mentioned factors as part of the problem.

I dunno if you're noticing it more recently...and that might be the case in this political thread....and if that's what you're drawing attention to...I'll submit that the closer we get to this election, the more people are getting emotionally invested. There's going to be alot of angry people on wednesday morning....and alot of jubilant people. Prior to wednesday morning, there's still a glimer of hope on both sides....but as we're getting closer, what used to be optimism on both sides...is growing to slim hope and massively overburdened aprehension. It's to be expected....

Ok, I have carefully analyzed Obama's "redistribution" plan. Here is my conclusion: It's actually an unbelievably good idea from a political standpoint, but it's evil from a moral one. His plan is simple; he's going to give people that currently pay no taxes even more money. This will obviously keep these people poor. Why would someone want to work hard and try to get ahead when they're already getting paid to do nothing?!?!? Hmmm...go to work for $8 an hour and wake up, travel and work 40 hours per week versus sitting on your ass, sleeping and/or watching Springer, while collecting only a few dollars less per month? Tough choice there!!! What these people fail to realize is that you can move up in the world even from a humble beginning at McDonalds if you work hard...something you can't do in the welfare system. These free checks will ensure that the vast majority of these people remain dependent on the government. This fuckin' long-legged maggot freak doesn't want to help poor people, he wants to enslave them. This will give him what I refer to as "votes for life." What a complete piece of trash this guy is.

Well, the precedent has been set for court battles and elections, so if it's a close race, you're correct.

If the election is close, I agree with you. If either party wins this thing in a resounding fashion, there will be zero mention of any controversy!

What a fucking moron! If I were the reporter interviewing this person, I would have slapped her! Contrary to what's being portrayed by some, not all Obama supporters are on welfare rolls. Some of them actually work for a living, and some of them actually make more than the $250K annually, that he plans on increasing taxes on!

It's the 43% of Americans who pay no income tax getting money back that bothers most people. Sure they pay social security etc...but not income tax...so Obama is going to take the income tax we all pay and give a bunch back to people who don't pay any.

Though I actually like the idea of Social Security being paid on income over $110,000.

See I actually like ONE of Obama's ideas!

"8 Nasty Campaign Rumors":

Mainstream news organizations have either debunked or found no evidence to support six nasty rumors about John McCain and Barack Obama that have surfaced during the presidential race. Take, for example, the story that Barack Obama was not born in the U.S. His birth certificate proves Obama, shown here as a toddler with mom Ann Dunham, was born in Hawaii.

Another rumor claims that in 1992, Arizona Sen. John McCain directed a particularly nasty slur at his wife, Cindy. The story comes from a book called "The Real McCain," by Cliff Schecter, a Democratic political consultant. He cites as sources three anonymous Arizona reporters who supposedly heard the nasty word. But no other reporter has been able to replicate Schecter's sourcing.

Rumor has it there's a tape featuring Michelle Obama, wife of the Democratic candidate, saying nasty things about white people and referring to them as "whitey." But the former CIA operative who kept pushing this story also kept changing his description of his sources for it. No such tape has ever surfaced. Michelle Obama has directly denied using the term.

Liberal partisans have blamed McCain, as a young Navy pilot, for crashing as many as five planes, including one that supposedly led to the 1967 disaster on the USS Forrestal, where an explosion and fire killed 134 sailors. The claim is that McCain could have sparked the blast by engaging in a risky maneuver. But no contemporary investigations have suggested McCain could have played any role in the tragedy.

Another scurrilous story maintained Obama funneled money to former Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga, now the country's prime minister. The two men purportedly are conspiring to institute Muslim law in Kenya -- even though both are Christians. The proof of all this was supposed to be in an e-mail from Obama. The message, however, was clearly not written by a native English speaker.

Yet another rumor maintains McCain insulted fellow vacationers during a trip to Fiji before his first run for president. Among his supposed mean deeds: forcing people to listen to him read aloud from the works of William Faulkner. The source of the story was an e-mail that has been attributed to two different women. The editor of the left-wing newsletter CounterPunch said he concluded "it's a phony."
