I say Dolphins 37, Pats 28.

I need the Dolphins to win this so I can be 10-4 overall this week, which means I have a shot at winning the pot in my poll @ work. 8)

Ok, just got word.

My poll is between me and two other guys. They got 3 loss's and I got 4. Kicker is, is that they both have New England tonight and I have Miami. If New England wins, I lose straight up, but if the Dolphins win, we will all be 10-4 and it will go to the tiebreaker, which is "total points scored." I put down 62 total points, so if the Dolphins win and the combined score is 54 or above, I win the dough!

Lets go Phins! 8)

Holy damn, I went to take a piss, come back down and see N.E up 20-7. Special Teams are crucial in these games. Blocked field goal, blocked punt, and kickoff return to the house. The points look good, but the Dolphins look sloppy, as does N.E on offense but MIA's special teams is in total meltdown form.

Henne is playing like Joey Harrington. 4 picks and a pick 6. What a terrible game overall by Miami and what the hell are they doing running the ball and moving like snails down by 20? Lmao, even the announcers were laughing. I'll get 'em next week. Had the points, WRONG TEAM

Brady and the offense didn't really do anything but use up clock control. They only had 14 points of offense, taking advantage off the blocked FG that resulted in their second offensive score with field position. Even N.E's D played conservative, Henne just played possibly the worst game you could play as far as placing the football. Those INT'S were laughable. I thought Cutler the other night was bad. That was painful.

The Kansas City Chiefs the LAST undefeated team in the entire NFL?! C'MON MAN! The slinky that is the beast of the NFL season continues.

My week 4 Power Rankings:

1. NY Jets (3): The Jets are one of the few teams that look all around consistent. Sanchez threw for a plethora of interceptions last season as the rookie struggled. This season? 0 interceptions. The offense is coming to life and we all know about a Rex Ryan defense, so the Jets are now playing complete football at the moment. Also 2-0 record in the AFC East with one up on New England.

2. Green Bay Packers (6): The Packers are struggling to win football games compared to their pre-season dominance. But the key to it all? They are WINNING. Winning tight games against a dangerous up-setting team like the Lions are one of the hardest games to cling onto in this league, and Green Bay bounced back after a tough loss on a short week on Monday Night. Could easily be 4-0. They will consistently get better.

3. New Orleans Saints (4): The Saints are not invincible like they once were one season ago. They are finding out REALLY quickly how tough it is to repeat, but just like the Packers, the Saints know how to win (esp with Drew Brees) and are finding ways to win tight football games. Could easily be undefeated as well if their young kicker doesn't miss a 20 some yard field goal. Run defense is a problem.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers (1): Even though Pittsburgh lost to arch rival Ravens, they were 1:00 away from being 4-0 and giving Ben Roethlisberger a 4-0 football team in the first month of the season. Credit Baltimore for getting the job done on that last heroic drive, but Pittsburgh, with their 4th string QB, played a tight game against a "powerhouse" in a rival of Baltimore and was one first down away from victory, but instead, snatched defeat in the jaws of victory. This team is now re-born with Roethlisberger back and could become the best team in the league soon.

5. Baltimore Ravens (10): Baltimore showed up in Pittsburgh and eeked our their annual close game and physical affair with the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. Joe Flacco was calm and got rid of the football quick and guided his team in the final seconds for the game clincher, snatching victory in the jaws of defeat. They must get better in redzone efficiency since the Steelers stopped them 2 times in their redzone, and once on 4th and goal but Baltimore has weapons. They will battle the North with Pittsburgh the rest of the way.

6. Atlanta Falcons {8}: The Falcons had a scary game against a team searching for their first victory but good teams get the job done and that's exactly what stud receiver Roddy White did to put his team in position to win with that forced fumble on the interception return. Atlanta is up in the air at the moment and is a team that could either get better down the stretch or fail to remain consistent. They now have the slight edge in the NFC South. Lets see them hold onto it.

7. Indanapolis Colts (2): Peyton Manning did everything he could to sheriff his team back from the depths of comebacks but fell a little short and continues to struggle against a tough divisional game in Jacksonville, losing in the last seconds on a 58 yard field goal from kicker Josh Scobee. Still, the Colts hung in with major injuries across the board and had the lead late in the game. This team will always bounce back, but they are now sitting 0-2 in the division looking up at the Texans in the AFC South. They need to make up ground fast, which they are certainly capable of.

8. San Diego Chargers (N/A): Another team to crack back into the top 10 for other teams failures. The Chargers have lots of work to do in finding a way to win back to back games this season after a dominating performance. The jury is still out on them until they can answer the bell and go on a little win streak to build, but they are off to a good start beating up on the terrible Cardinals at home.

9. Houston Texans (9): The Texans played a close game to the Raiders, grabbed a late surging lead from benched running back Arian Fosters 80 yard touchdown run, but quickly squandered a lead to let Oakland back into the game by a 7 point margin before sealing the deal. The Texans are siting 3-1 in the AFC South and taking care of business even though it looked ugly at times, but the Colts have looked ugly at times as well and with Tennessee being upset by the Broncos, Houston is sitting better than everyone would of thunk in week 4.

10. New England Patriots (N/A): Tom Brady BARELY threw for 50 yards in the second half and the Patriots made it to 41 points in a weird and loopy shootout. Points didn't come from Randy Moss, Wes Welker, or Tom Brady. Points came from wild Special Teams play and that young defense converting interceptions into touchdowns. Brady and the offense looked sloppy and the defense still needs to find identity, but scoring that many points on special teams on the road to go 3-1 on the season should keep this team in the running against the Jets for the time being.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Next 5: Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins

Good rankings for the most part Trav, except I don't see how you rank the Falcons that highly. Then again, I haven't had a chance to really watch them, so I'm going purely off of how I've seen their games evolve over the scores.

I'm actually having a hard time putting teams in their respective places but I just can't keep them there and end up moving teams all around. The Falcons and say, the Chargers and Patriots are going to fluctuate out of the rankings weekly until some team steps up and wants to play consistently.

Teams are all over the place this year, like the Chargers losing to the Chiefs, crushing Jacksonville (who beat Indy) losing to the Seahawks, then winning big again against the Cardinals.

You have Indy losing to the Texans, beating the Giants and Broncos, but lose to the Jaguars, who lost to the Chargers.

The Seahawks crush San Fran in week 1, lose to a questionable team in Denver, then come back and win a close one against the Chargers, then lose to the Rams pretty badly at St.Louis where they haven't won in years.

The Ravens beat the Jets, who are now recently hot, struggle against Cleveland, lose to Cincy when the Browns beat the Bengals but beat the Steelers.

It's just one of those seasons. It's hard to place all teams from top to bottom. The only consistent teams in the league at the moment are the Jets, Steelers, Saints, Packers and maybe the Pats or the Chiefs but we'll see how they come out after the BYE and we'll see if N.E can keep pace with the Jets which is still shoulder shrugging.

But then you have the 2-2 Colts ranked 7th, but the 3-1 Patriots ranked 10th....you should do rankings for NCAA football....

And you say the Saints are consistent? Hardly looking like a Super Bowl team....they sqeaked by 2 two weeks already....both games they should have lost....

Perhaps they are consistently sqeaking by ...don't bring the NCAAF into this, if I can rank the teams even before the rankings come out, it isn't that hard!! The only ? mark is the Leprechuns, but the "M" and Sparty thank them!! Where's Lynn?!?! She needs to tie you up and put you somewhere!!

PS~Da Saints will get the job done when the need arises!!

Kick off is at 9 frickin' 30. Oh my god is Arrowhead going to be SMOKIN! Litterally. There is a good chance the crowd will be coming down by the 3rd quarter (after an entire night of tailgating) so I hope they put it away early.

Our team sucks, but the tailgate and Arrowhead experience is second to none.

I don't go by record. I go by how I think a team plays overall against one team, and compare how they come out and would matchup against another team the week after and build off of that.

Last week, the Colts were ranked #2 and I didn't even have the Pats on the board considering the other competition of teams looking more-so impressive than the Pats. The Colts lose a squeaker to the Jags and drop down a few notches while the Pats special teams play bumped them back in the top 10. I'm not going to jump the Pats up over the Colts, who were ranked #2 just a weeks ago just because the Colts lost and the Pats won.

In my opinion, if the Colts/Pats would face off at the moment, then I don't think it'll even be remotely close. Peyton Manning will shred that Patriots defense up and down the field so unbelievably bad that it'll be worse than that Monday Night score, and it won't be because of special teams OR it'll be like what Brees did to the Pats last season. I just think the Colts are a better team than the Patriots and outshine them in many categories around the board.

If I use your logic about records and records only, then the Chiefs will be #1 and teams like Dallas and Minnesota will be #27 and #28 next to the Raiders and Bills when we all know damn well both of those teams are better than their record indicates and should pick it up soon while the Chiefs aren't expected to keep dominating in the W column for much longer.

And the Saints are consistent enough to be 3-1, and consistent enough to hang with the Falcons in the division and could be 4-0 if Hartley makes that FG in overrtime. You say they squeak by 2 weeks in a row, games they could have lost but did enough to find a way to win. That's not consistency? Plus, I never said they were looking like a Super Bowl team. I actually said they aren't invincible but they are still a good football team who can beat anybody.

The Patriots pummel the Bengals in week one (who lost to the Browns and struggled against the Panthers) go up against one of the best defense's in the league in a loss, almost gets ousted against the Bills in a shootout, and looked terrible on offense against a Miami team not playing up to par. The Pats aren't playing consistent either, they are just finding different ways to win football games that won't be there all year like that whacked out game last night against Miami.

I STILL can't figure out if you're a Pats fan or not. You claim you're a Lions fan but always defend the Pats and come to their rescue and seem to talk them up pretty good. You should just admit your Pats dedication because I just can't tell even though it's so obvious . 8)

Wow, this is all over the place, just fitting for the NFL lol.

Ravens at #1? Atlanta at #3 ahead of the Packers? The Bears ahead of the Colts, Eagles? The Giants ahead of the Colts, Eagles, Redskins, Cowboys and Vikes? The Rams ahead of the Skins, Cowboys, Vikes?

Interesting.

Oddly enough, the Steelers still rank #1 on ESPN despite their down to the wire loss to the Ravens. Ben has that kind of sudden impact.

Yeah...its kinda a mess. I could argue against my own logic for most of these. I've been doing this for 15 years and its never been so difficult. It almost wasn't even fun this week because no matter who I ranked where I didn't feel comfortable. I like the Ravens at #1 because they have beaten the Jets and Steelers and seems to be a good overall team that could beat anyone on any given Sunday. ATL has only lost to Pitt. I'm not sold on Pack. Bears shouldn't be ahead of Colts I guess, but Eagles are iffy. I'm not sold on Skins or Boys either. Vikes needed Moss and Favre's ankle looks awful.

Tough..and I deserve the criticism.

No criticism my man. Power Rankings are how you see fit. To each their own on how you think teams should be placed regardless of record and what not. Some teams I wouldn't agree with in MY opinion, but overall, this NFL season is whacked so your take certainly isn't off the mark by no means.

the next three weeks are desperatly critical for the Vikes... if there is no chemsitry between Favre and Moss... there will be trouble by week 9... or sooner... then what??? Moss is at the end of his career and no extra $$$ will make him happy... so this will either be brilliant move by front office for SHORT TERM, super bowl... or a disaster...with coaches being fired at the end...and brett leaving with nothing to show for it...

Last week: 9-5
Overall: 34-27

Week 5 picks:

4 upsets on my board this week:

Bucs @ Bengals I was tempted to claim this an upset pick, but if Cincy wants to be a good team then they rebound from their sloppy play since week 1 against a team that's building towards their future. Cincy by 13.

Bears @ Panthers: UPSET- Jay Cutler isn't starting this week. It will go to Todd Collins, the statue who looks like he can't walk straight. The Bears played one of the the most horrific games I've ever seen last week and Todd Collins going ON the road, to Carolina where their searchin' for their first win is dangerous. Jimmy Clausen is playing solid right now and CAR still has a nice run game. Panthers by 7.

Rams @ Lions: Good matchup. Bradford has been looking anything but a rookie and the Rams have found new life in a pathetic division. The Lions are almost there and could either come out and crush a riding high Rams team, or keep losing close football games. I say they keep losing close until they are ready for breakthrough. The Rams all of a sudden are a good team but need to win on the road as well. Rams by 10.

Giants @ Texans: The Giants defense finally showed up last week and pummeled the Bears. But their offense is pathetic and couldn't do much until well into the 4th qrt even givin the domination of the defense. They won't make up ground with a Texans team who can put up points all over the place. Texans D must help out Shaub and the offense. Texans by 14.

Broncos @ Ravens: UPSET- The Broncos and Ravens always play good slug fests, but with the Ravens riding high from the Steelers win, this could be a trap game. Kyle Orton has been awesome this year and can scorch defense's and take advantage of a young Ravens secondary. Should be a good game, as well as close. Broncos by 6.

Falcons @ Browns: The Browns have been in every game this season and finally beat a team within the division they almost came close to beating over the years. Terrell Owens had over 200 yards receiving and Matt Ryan has many more viable weapons than the Bengals, so I expect Ryan to have a field day, as well as having a better ground game than Cincy. Atlanta by 20.

Chiefs @ Colts: Like the Patriots, the Colts are a team that come out and play unbeatable football after a loss. The Chiefs fortunes of the un-beaten will come crashing down very hard this week and Manning will expose what kind of team they really are. Colts by 17.

Jags @ Bills: The Jags are at it again. Now they are on the consistent side for now, beating the Colts in a thrilling game on a 60 yard field goal. That could be the kick to offer new and confident life for the Jags. The Bills are becoming that perfect opponent to bolster confidence and getting an "easy" win. Jags by 13.

Packers @ Redskins: UPSET- Over the past few weeks, the Pack hasn't looked to well and have been turning the ball over occasionally, as well as penalties. They are bound to slip up here and there and this matchup could be the one that makes the Pack look bad on all fronts. I like Washington's defense and there' s just something about McNabb to praise about. Redskins by 8.

Saints @ Cardinals: SLAUGHTER. Saints by 24.

Titans @ Cowboys: The Cowboys are primed to come back from their BYE, at home and prove something. Even though the Cowboys have been out-performed in many ways, they have a chip on their shoulder and the Titans are a team in the way of Dallas's track of redemption. Cowboys by 13.

Chargers @ Raiders: The Raiders have all the potential to beat the Chargers since San Diego does slip up to these teams early in the season but I don't see it happening this week with Phillip Rivers and the offense putting points on the board that they are supposed to. Still, the Chargers are pathetic at stopping the run and have awful special teams. One to keep an eye out on. Chargers by 10.

Eagles @ 49'ers: UPSET- Teams searching for their first win are DANGEROUS and I think the 9'ers are ready to get theirs. The Eagles went from controversy, to good shape, and back down to concern. The 9'ers catch the Eagles team at the right time. San Francisco by 7.

Vikings @ Jets: Welcome back, Randy Moss. Brett Favre should be happy about this. The Vikes are well rested and had time to search within themselves and now have a big play threat back in Moss. The Jets cruised the past few weeks. Now they go up against a fresh team, fired up to make a statement. Two great defense's going at it. Vikes get back on track. Vikings by 9.

Cincy to win by 3...

Bears to steal one here... with defenes by 6...

Lions to beat Bradford at home... by 6...defense for the lions will win the game...

Chiefs by 3... they are the real deal... colts are finally aging...

JAX by 15 Bills arent any good...

Falcons win, but maybe Seneca is gaining confidence???

Ravens win.... by 3...

Texans win by 6...

Cant bet against my Packers... even at the Redskins... as McNabb will be flat after beating his old rival team last week...
Packers need to be hungry... otherwise, if the team comes out napping... the Pack will be burnt here...

UPSET special... Saints flat and AZ wins... I dont know how the heck how... just a gut...

Cowboys win by 6...

another game with two bad teams... Chargers here by 14...

49ers win first game... VICK out and Eagles on the road...

Jets are the real deal... Vikes--Moss/Favre combo will be iteresting here.. but then-- JETS
have home field... and wild and aggresive D... will go after Brett early and often, make him beat them...
if Peterson can take time off the clock and score 6 instead of 3... Vikes could win... but Jets are
a fine team, Vikes still searching... edge to JEts with outside game....

Indy looking VERY beatable this year...

The Silverdome's are gonna win their first game! Wooo!

Chief's coaching staff blew that game....onside kick, going for it on 4th down instead of kicking the field goal....Indy was beatable.

Should have went with my gut and pick Tampa. Cincy losing with one sec. left. They are so bad. Palmer throwing 3 picks with a pick 6.

I don't know how the Bears won with their QB completing 6 passes for 32 yards and 4 interceptions but they had a big day with Forte, who I sat on the bench and he goes huge. I have bad luck with fantasy it's not even funny.

Giants are finally playing for real and all of a sudden the Texans are playing their best imitation of a good football team.

Had a feeling the Lions were going to explode. Good for them, Bradford lost his go-to guy, who of coarse, I picked up for fantasy in Meachem.

The Doncos were penalty frenzied. Baltimore got Denver's number at home, they beat them last year big as well in Baltimore.

Atleast I got one upset pick with Washington over Green Bay. Green Bay was due for a slip up, they've been playing close weekly and on the edge. Washington scary in the NFC.

Cardinals leading the Saints by 10 at home. If this would stand (lots of game to go) but Lights picked this STRAIGHT UP. The Saints are just blowing their wad lately, not looking good whatsoever recently. Atlanta has a serious shot at knocking this team off for good if they keep playing like this.

The mystery of the NFL continues.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Tony Romo is probably the worse quarterback I have ever seen. He is absolutely terrible. I can't see how you can keep starting this loser. He has single-handedly lost numerous playoff games and he's terrible in the last 2 minutes. 3 more interceptions today and 3 or 4 that the Titans dropped. There's a reason this guy was at Eastern Illinois.

San Diego ... another shit stain of a team that wastes an annual playoff spot. They lost to ... Oakland.
