I need the Dolphins to win this so I can be 10-4 overall this week, which means I have a shot at winning the pot in my poll @ work.

I'm actually having a hard time putting teams in their respective places but I just can't keep them there and end up moving teams all around. The Falcons and say, the Chargers and Patriots are going to fluctuate out of the rankings weekly until some team steps up and wants to play consistently.
Teams are all over the place this year, like the Chargers losing to the Chiefs, crushing Jacksonville (who beat Indy) losing to the Seahawks, then winning big again against the Cardinals.
You have Indy losing to the Texans, beating the Giants and Broncos, but lose to the Jaguars, who lost to the Chargers.
The Seahawks crush San Fran in week 1, lose to a questionable team in Denver, then come back and win a close one against the Chargers, then lose to the Rams pretty badly at St.Louis where they haven't won in years.
The Ravens beat the Jets, who are now recently hot, struggle against Cleveland, lose to Cincy when the Browns beat the Bengals but beat the Steelers.
It's just one of those seasons. It's hard to place all teams from top to bottom. The only consistent teams in the league at the moment are the Jets, Steelers, Saints, Packers and maybe the Pats or the Chiefs but we'll see how they come out after the BYE and we'll see if N.E can keep pace with the Jets which is still shoulder shrugging.
Perhaps they are consistently sqeaking by ...don't bring the NCAAF into this, if I can rank the teams even before the rankings come out, it isn't that hard!! The only ? mark is the Leprechuns, but the "M" and Sparty thank them!! Where's Lynn?!?! She needs to tie you up and put you somewhere!!S2M wrote:YoungJRNY wrote:Ehwmatt wrote:Good rankings for the most part Trav, except I don't see how you rank the Falcons that highly. But then you have the 2-2 Colts ranked 7th, but the 3-1 Patriots ranked 10th....you should do rankings for NCAA football....![]()

And you say the Saints are consistent? Hardly looking like a Super Bowl team....they sqeaked by 2 two weeks already....both games they should have lost....

Kick off is at 9 frickin' 30. Oh my god is Arrowhead going to be SMOKIN! Litterally. There is a good chance the crowd will be coming down by the 3rd quarter (after an entire night of tailgating) so I hope they put it away early.
Our team sucks, but the tailgate and Arrowhead experience is second to none.

No one took me up on this bet. Shit.

Wow, this is all over the place, just fitting for the NFL lol.
Ravens at #1? Atlanta at #3 ahead of the Packers? The Bears ahead of the Colts, Eagles? The Giants ahead of the Colts, Eagles, Redskins, Cowboys and Vikes? The Rams ahead of the Skins, Cowboys, Vikes?
Interesting.
Oddly enough, the Steelers still rank #1 on ESPN despite their down to the wire loss to the Ravens. Ben has that kind of sudden impact.

Yeah...its kinda a mess. I could argue against my own logic for most of these. I've been doing this for 15 years and its never been so difficult. It almost wasn't even fun this week because no matter who I ranked where I didn't feel comfortable. I like the Ravens at #1 because they have beaten the Jets and Steelers and seems to be a good overall team that could beat anyone on any given Sunday. ATL has only lost to Pitt. I'm not sold on Pack. Bears shouldn't be ahead of Colts I guess, but Eagles are iffy. I'm not sold on Skins or Boys either. Vikes needed Moss and Favre's ankle looks awful.
Tough..and I deserve the criticism.

Overall: 34-27
Week 5 picks:
4 upsets on my board this week:
Bucs @ Bengals I was tempted to claim this an upset pick, but if Cincy wants to be a good team then they rebound from their sloppy play since week 1 against a team that's building towards their future. Cincy by 13.
Bears @ Panthers: UPSET- Jay Cutler isn't starting this week. It will go to Todd Collins, the statue who looks like he can't walk straight. The Bears played one of the the most horrific games I've ever seen last week and Todd Collins going ON the road, to Carolina where their searchin' for their first win is dangerous. Jimmy Clausen is playing solid right now and CAR still has a nice run game. Panthers by 7.
Rams @ Lions: Good matchup. Bradford has been looking anything but a rookie and the Rams have found new life in a pathetic division. The Lions are almost there and could either come out and crush a riding high Rams team, or keep losing close football games. I say they keep losing close until they are ready for breakthrough. The Rams all of a sudden are a good team but need to win on the road as well. Rams by 10.
Giants @ Texans: The Giants defense finally showed up last week and pummeled the Bears. But their offense is pathetic and couldn't do much until well into the 4th qrt even givin the domination of the defense. They won't make up ground with a Texans team who can put up points all over the place. Texans D must help out Shaub and the offense. Texans by 14.
Broncos @ Ravens: UPSET- The Broncos and Ravens always play good slug fests, but with the Ravens riding high from the Steelers win, this could be a trap game. Kyle Orton has been awesome this year and can scorch defense's and take advantage of a young Ravens secondary. Should be a good game, as well as close. Broncos by 6.
Falcons @ Browns: The Browns have been in every game this season and finally beat a team within the division they almost came close to beating over the years. Terrell Owens had over 200 yards receiving and Matt Ryan has many more viable weapons than the Bengals, so I expect Ryan to have a field day, as well as having a better ground game than Cincy. Atlanta by 20.
Chiefs @ Colts: Like the Patriots, the Colts are a team that come out and play unbeatable football after a loss. The Chiefs fortunes of the un-beaten will come crashing down very hard this week and Manning will expose what kind of team they really are. Colts by 17.
Jags @ Bills: The Jags are at it again. Now they are on the consistent side for now, beating the Colts in a thrilling game on a 60 yard field goal. That could be the kick to offer new and confident life for the Jags. The Bills are becoming that perfect opponent to bolster confidence and getting an "easy" win. Jags by 13.
Packers @ Redskins: UPSET- Over the past few weeks, the Pack hasn't looked to well and have been turning the ball over occasionally, as well as penalties. They are bound to slip up here and there and this matchup could be the one that makes the Pack look bad on all fronts. I like Washington's defense and there' s just something about McNabb to praise about. Redskins by 8.
Saints @ Cardinals: SLAUGHTER. Saints by 24.
Titans @ Cowboys: The Cowboys are primed to come back from their BYE, at home and prove something. Even though the Cowboys have been out-performed in many ways, they have a chip on their shoulder and the Titans are a team in the way of Dallas's track of redemption. Cowboys by 13.
Chargers @ Raiders: The Raiders have all the potential to beat the Chargers since San Diego does slip up to these teams early in the season but I don't see it happening this week with Phillip Rivers and the offense putting points on the board that they are supposed to. Still, the Chargers are pathetic at stopping the run and have awful special teams. One to keep an eye out on. Chargers by 10.
Eagles @ 49'ers: UPSET- Teams searching for their first win are DANGEROUS and I think the 9'ers are ready to get theirs. The Eagles went from controversy, to good shape, and back down to concern. The 9'ers catch the Eagles team at the right time. San Francisco by 7.
Vikings @ Jets: Welcome back, Randy Moss. Brett Favre should be happy about this. The Vikes are well rested and had time to search within themselves and now have a big play threat back in Moss. The Jets cruised the past few weeks. Now they go up against a fresh team, fired up to make a statement. Two great defense's going at it. Vikes get back on track. Vikings by 9.
Saint John wrote:I've said it before and I'll say it again, Tony Romo is probably the worse quarterback I have ever seen. He is absolutely terrible. I can't see how you can keep starting this loser. He has single-handedly lost numerous playoff games and he's terrible in the last 2 minutes. 3 more interceptions today and 3 or 4 that the Titans dropped. There's a reason this guy was at Eastern Illinois.![]()
San Diego ... another shit stain of a team that wastes an annual playoff spot. They lost to ... Oakland.![]()
