Dopey comment, kid. The Patriots defense has been tested throughout the season. Now, you can certainly argue that they haven't passed many of those tests, and I won't disagree with you. I'm not sold on the New England defense, AT ALL, and if they lose in the playoffs, it will be on the defensive side of the ball. I'm reasonably certain that New England has one of the toughest strengths of schedule in the league this season, so they're continuously being tested. Last I checked, they have beat San Diego, Indianapolis, Baltimore (no offense, obviously), Jets, and Pittsburgh. Those are some very key wins.

Well, I guess you could say they have been tested, and you said it nicely that they just have failed, but other than maybe the Indianapolis game where they came up with the huge Manning pick to close (more of a putrid throw by Manning than anything) the Pats haven't been tested as far as being in a situation or an entire game where they would need their defense to rise up and carry them. If Brady can keep that potent offense scoring 35+, then that defense can break all day and give up yardage anytime they want. New England has to atleast make a hiccup on offense sooner or later so would the defense be able to carry out a W in the post-season is the question. This AFC is going to be GREAT in the playoffs. Patriots, Ravens, Jets, Steelers with the upset teams set to take stage with a Jacksonville or Kansas City. Should make a helluva matchup anyway you turn it.

Regardless of the outcome of the earlier game against each other, I still think the Chargers are the only team that can win a shoot out with New England. Once the Chargers stop pretending that they can run the ball and go strictly pass, it's hard to stop them. The best defense against them are their own special teams, what a joke.

Unfortunately, it looks like we may never seen the matchup. If San Diego can remove the tampon from their vagina's within the first weeks in the season, then they would lock up home field advantage within the playoffs by week 9! But they continue to be their own lock-jaw and if you can't beat the Raiders within the division then you don't deserve it. San Diego would of been a very tough matchup in the playoffs, but it looks like other teams ahead of them within the Conference control their own destiny for the Wild Card spots/Division leaders. Any which way it's spun, the Steelers, Pats, Ravens, Jets, Jaguars or Chiefs WILL make the last 2 Wild Card spots, whichever teams it may be. These next 4 weeks could determine seeding and the difference between all spots available, but all of those teams control their playoff fate whichever seed it may be. Interesting.

If it rains next week Chiefs should win. If it's dry, I could see the Chargers blowing them out, then the rest comes down to who doesn't lose any of their last three games. I think San Diego has the easiest path out of the three (SD, KC, Oakland).

Only one probl;em here.

New England came into last night's game ranked dead last. (I know numbers can be misleading- San Diego is number 1 in defense and number 2 in offense, go figure?). This points to one conclusion, or perhaps, two. 1- The Jets are not nearly as good as their 9-3 record suggests. They have squeaked by for weeks now, and really haven't played well for 6,7 weeks. 2- Mark Sanchez was God awful last night. That game could have been a whole lot different had he made better decisions. he looked like the game was too fast for him last night, and this by the NFL's worst defensive team.

Lest I remind you Chowds of one thing, particularly you, S2M. You say the pats are the class of the NFL... Um, no, sorry, they aren't. maybe the best run franchise, yes, but not the best team on the field. I would have to say this year, the NFC is a much better conference. Atlanta, New Orleans, Green Bay, Chicago, Philadelphia, and maybe the G mean are all solid clubs. I believe Atlanta and Philadelphia to be the best clubs in football right now. Those two teams, along with the Saints can blow holes through that Pats defense. We'll see come February.

By the way, let's each wager 5 bucks as to who will be the Super Bowl Halftime show.

I say, since it's Dallas, it will be either Keith Urban, or ZZ Top. Anyone else? 2 picks per customer. Be right back, headed down to Taco Bell to get a number 8 value meal. :)

They are. There is already talk of Bieber doing it next year. Apparently, the last few years of Legacy acts were in response to the Janet Jackson incident. Now that penance has been paid, the plan is to use current /younger acts from this point forward.

Talk about not hitting your target audience. Really, a country act would be most suitable - throw Brad Paisley or one of the other big current country stars out there. I think that will hit the biggest target audience, especially since country has become a somewhat crossover genre.

Actually Don, it's easier to pass in the rain and the snow, because your QB and receivers know where the ball is going...the defender has to react. The Chargers win this game anyway. They don't lose another game from here on out, and they win the division.

Chesney was campaigning hard for it, I though he had it in the bag.

I somewhat agree here Don, but this can't be a science though. To say they(the SB committee), wants younger acts all the time is a stretch. We had Shania Twain before Janet Jackson right? We really never had a young act...add to that the committee has asked Springsteen 11 times before he finally said yes....which tells me that they want the best big time acts, whomever is available to perform. I can see ZZ To doing it this year...they have that style that people will talk about and comment on...the stupid beards, the furry guitars, the hats, et al. They are from Texas too. However, I also think if they get urban, or Chesny or a big country act, or maybe even two of them(two songs each), that could work too..remember, Shania shared the stage with that blonde haired bitch, Gwen Stefani.

I think they are saying that half a decade of highlighting artists over 50 years old is something that they want to get away with for awhile. The NFL is not saying those shows weren't a success but making SB Halftime a Classic Rock Sunday has run its course for the moment.

The mystery of Matt Cassel missing practice Wednesday coupled with the Kansas City Chiefs promoting quarterback Tyler Palko has been solved.

The team has announced that Cassel underwent an appendectomy on Wednesday morning. The Chiefs say they expect Cassel to return to work this week. Returning to work and being ready to perform well in the team’s biggest game of the season on Sunday against San Diego are two different things. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the Chiefs are viewing Cassel as being questionable to play in the game.

I did it, so Cassells can too. I had emergency appedectomy in high School and played a basketball game two nights later. That was back in 1986, so I am sure medical procedures are even better now. Cassells will play, that's for sure. they will stick him for pain and toss a fistful of vikes down his throat....that's all it takes anyway.

Mine burst before I got to the Hospital back in '76. I was in there for six weeks with another two months recovery at home.

A doc from Santa Monica said it's such a minor procedure now that Cassel could play without any issues other than pain.

You ever blow BOTH of your ACL's out Natalie? Ever completely rip your PCL? Ever tear the living shit out of your rotator cuff? Didn't think so.

You know Natalie, when your knees are fucked, it's real hard to walk, pain free. Pretty soon, the body compensates the way it walks, to aleviate the pain, thus causing even more problems. Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but prayer, physical therapy and aspirin doesn't fix these types of injuries.
