Nice deflection...No one said the scientists themselves receive the trillions, dimwit. All that money goes to fund studies, projects, and the many organizations (many of which are corrupt) that work those studies and projects. So while the scientists doing the actual legwork may not be getting independently wealthy from those funds, the projects they work on do in a major way. Al Gore has basically enriched himself at the expense of the "scientific world" and many of the world's governments that he's duped in to believing faux-science.

BTW...Scientists do not earn piss-poor wages. There are scientists I know who don't bring in a ton of bank but they aren't hurting for it, either.

Now, where would we have been without all these studies, projects and organizations? Fucking nowhere. Infrastructure, cars, machines, medicines, farming and the list goes on, and on, and on and on and on.

And I'll state this again for you; If you want to believe something else than almost every god damn scientific institution and organization, then that's your prerogative. But don't for one second think that it makes you smart, critical or whatever the fuck you think it does. You're just another pretentious conspiracy theorist.

Your anecdotal evidence that you know a scientist that makes a decent pay means absolutely nothing. Scientists make 3000 € less than the EU median salary income, despite having often 5-10 years of education.

The general American's lack of rationality truly is painful at times.

In fact, there is even overwhelming evidence that most French women only shave their legs every Feburary 29th.

This isn't based on one study - so whether or not some morons at Penn St. fudged some numbers is irrelevant. 32 national science academies, the representative of the world scientific and engineering academies and American association for the advancement of science all are in agreement. You can add a shitload of others too, which constitute basically the whole scientific community. The American chemical society issued the following statement:

Emissions of greenhouse gases from human activities are changing the atmosphere in ways that affect the Earth's climate. Greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide as well as methane, nitrous oxide and other gases. They are emitted from fossil fuel combustion and a range of industrial and agricultural processes.

The evidence is incontrovertible: Global warming is occurring. If no mitigating actions are taken, significant disruptions in the Earth’s physical and ecological systems, social systems, security and human health are likely to occur. We must reduce emissions of greenhouse gases beginning now.

Sorry, man. This isn't even debatable.

How do you suppose we regulate cows and humans from flatulating?!

I heard some liberal woman on the radio this morning say that if we all became vegans it would fix that problem. :?

^^^^ FF, what you are failing to see by your extremely verbose, yet whacked out position is that in order for something to be somewhat in the middle, it has to be trending in a specific direction. It is either currently warm - and trending towards to cool end(in order to be in the middle), or currently cool, and trending towards the warmer side to sit centrist....

I got you figured out, however....question: Would you be on the side of the scientists if you didn't think the industry wwa trying to fleece consumers out of their money by offering 'green' products?

I'm not sure I buy your story, but it is in NO WAY a fraud, as has been proven time and time again. Find me ONE peer-reviewed publication EVER WRITTEN by ANY CLIMATOLOGIST IN THE WORLD that does not believe mankind is at least partially responsible for climate change...ONE. The only one falling for the "fraud" is you and the other Republicans who continue to eat the bullshit your lying idealogues keep force-feeding you on Faux news, all the while telling you you're actually eating fine caviar.

My wife's yorkie is a pain the ass. The other day, the little bastard peed on my pllow and then licked my face incessantly until I took it outside at 4:30 in the morning. So, for the fuck of it, I opened a can of gourmet wet dog food, put in in a dish, and then put the dish on a little table about one inch above her maximum range on her vertical jump, and watched her jump and bark in frustration and desperation for a good 15 minutes.

The continents have always moved, and continues to do so; it's called continental drift. It's called global warming because of the earth's rise in temperature. It's the media that is making it out to be that the scientists are really split on this, but they're not; the consensus is that the rise in temperature comes form human made emission of green gases (deforestation and burning of fossil fuel). Some of it can be attribute to solar activity, sure, but it's undeniable that it's mostly man made.

Increase in sea temperature (water's density depends on its temperature) and deglacing, will be catastrophic for cities like London or for the millions of people living in shore communities in Asia and Africa.

So for next time: stop spreading nonsensical jibberjabber and get your facts straight.

my “facts” are fine. ice has come and gone and fronzen land masses today were nice lush green valleys in their time also. too bad man kind wasn’t around way back then to keep things from freezing, huh?

I’m also fully aware the continents drift. that was kinda my point you seemed to wiff on. thanks for playing though. I also feel we can and should work better with our environment, but al gore can blow me and anyone who’s screaming THE END IS NEAR because of all this are over-reactionary “nutjobs” to me. my point is the planet is changing and has always changed. why THIS TIME is due to evil mankind to me is self-serving for those who want to force extreme views upon you.

if you want to talk about the facts around the story, great. but keep the insults to my own intelligence in check and I’ll be glad to return the courtesy. if you wanna get internet tough and just sound tough, I’ll just move on cause those people are about as useful as tits on a nun.

btw – I now hear a mini-ice age is coming due to.

There will be always a small part of the scientific community which believes different from the majority, but again; the consensus is simply overwhelming. Believe what you want, seriously.

You still have scientists that believe the earth is 6000 years old - but them believing it doesn't make it right. Get it?

I'm not a geologist or a physicist, and can't possibly know if your quotes are even true. I'm conveying the fact however, that every god damn major scientific institution and organization in the world is disagreeing with you.

If you think this is some plot or whatever, then fine. That's your prerogative - but believing something simply doesn't make it right.

did you just say you have no idea from a technical standpoint what the truth is but you choose to believe the masses???

Do us all a favor and reply in one post. I'm not insulting your intelligence, as much as I am remarking the apparent lack of it. Now, let's get down to the facts (not anecdotal bullshit and opinions): I'm going to give you a simple introduction to global warming.

The sun emits light in the form of both visible, UV and IF. This light penetrates our atmosphere and is absorbed by the earth, and then radiated out again (though mostly in IF light). Now if this all to it, then the earth would radiate the same amount of light each year. That's where greenhouse gases come in. CO2 and its isotopes (which we've added about 1,400 billion metric tons in the atmosphere since the industrial revolution) and water vapor especially. These aforementioned greenhouse gases will absorb around 1 % of the IR light radiated by the earth, warming the troposphere, thus increasing the overall temperature.

You see, this is pretty basic physics. It's not an scientific opinion by a few aluminum foil wearing conspiracy theorists, but pretty much the whole fucking scientific community. You see the ridiculousness of it all? You're some moron with an opinion, and absolutely no knowledge about even the simplest of physical principles (or grammar for that matter), and the scientific community, which is composed of engineers, physicists, mathematicians, geologists and much more.
Furthermore, you're mixing up the destruction of the ozone layer by CFC, which did have a cooling effect on earth and global warming, which have a larger warming effect.

Quantum mechanics, the most well-tested theory science has yet produced, explicitly predicts that CO2 molecules will absorb IR light emitted by warm terrestrial surface. As you increase the concentration of CO2 molecules, the absorption of IR increases linearly, as per the Beer-Lambert law. A law that has been tested in labs all over the world for the last century to explain the vast majority of variation we measure in the absorption of light by molecules.

Because some of that energy absorbed by an increasing concentration of CO2 molecules is re-emitted back toward the surface of the earth, energy builds up in the lower troposphere. That causes the temperature to increase, as per the greenhouse effect that has been predicted, modeled and tested in the real world for almost 200 years since the time of Fourier!

The French military is VERY relevant, iceberg. For instance, the white flag of surrender industry wouldn't exist without them. Nor would the International Traitors Association, or the five miniscule French boys who accosted me in 1999 in Marseille and demanded I hand over all my cigarettes even though I have never smoked once in my life. Without the French and their sixth burning finger, the American toaccco industry would no longer exist. Also, it would have taken the Germans just ONE day, as opposed to three, to not once, but twice, steamroll their way into downtown Paris.

Just waiting for parfait to take the bait here...

Without the French and their sixth burning finger, the American toaccco industry would no longer exist. Also, it would have taken the Germans just ONE day, as opposed to three, to not once, but twice, steamroll their way into downtown Paris.

Just waiting for parfait to take the bait here...

Do us all a favor and reply in one post. I'm not insulting your intelligence, as much as I am remarking the apparent lack of it. Now, let's get down to the facts (not anecdotal bullshit and opinions): I'm going to give you a simple introduction to global warming.

and i quit giving an unholy shit about the rest.

you're here to take shots at people, much like many of your mindset. you talk down to me like you've got some holy nugget from God himself and as if i have no knowledge of the topic at all.

like i said, if you want to just insult, fuck off.

Parfait doesnt believe in God. ;) He actually thinks he IS God. Just ignore him and move on ,man. 8)

all good. when he went for insult #2 i just moved on. before growing up, winning online pissing matches used to be how i won my Gold Medals, so being able to out-insult someone is easy. but why? if you're that insecure about how you feel, that ain't my issue. and since i never really got any medals in the mail to shine on up, i realized winning on online insult fest is about as relevant as the french military.

Is climate change raising sea levels, as Al Gore has argued -- or are climate scientists doctoring the data?

The University of Colorado’s Sea Level Research Group decided in May to add 0.3 millimeters -- or about the thickness of a fingernail -- every year to its actual measurements of sea levels, sparking criticism from experts who called it an attempt to exaggerate the effects of global warming.

"Gatekeepers of our sea level data are manufacturing a fictitious sea level rise that is not occurring," said James M. Taylor, a lawyer who focuses on environmental issues for the Heartland Institute.

i liked this part:

"We have to account for the fact that the ocean basins are actually getting slightly bigger... water volume is expanding," he said, a phenomenon they call glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA).

Taylor calls it tomfoolery.

"There really is no reason to do this other than to advance a political agenda," he said.

seems we did focus on the same part.

Listen up, moron. Do you see somewhat of an inconsistency here? I've continuously answered and refuted your so called evidence (from fox news this time, no less  ) while you and the rest of the butt bandits here completely overlook what I've posted. I've yet to see one of you reply to one of my posts with more than some bitching about me calling you a few names and more copy posting random shit.

And let me repeat this once again: you're someone who doesn't know squat about the subject, but still you seem adamant in that almost an entire fucking world community of scientists are just plain wrong - and that you, and a few select other, got it all figured out. Do you see the the stupidity in all of this?
Global warming is backed up by every major scientific organization out there because of the hundreds of peer reviewed studies and predictions, which goes back several hundred years to Fourier.

Do you know why the ocean basins are getting larger? Because the ice melting from the polar caps impacts the horizontal and vertical crustal motion as well as gravity, which in turn increases the weight put on the basin floor. GIA has also been linked to the increase in earthquakes and volcanoes.

Call it a cliché, post some picture of a yogurt or go find some shit from Fox News you can copy paste - I don't care. But just keep in mind that you and the other retards are dead wrong, and don't even seem to grasp the simplest of deduction and rationality. But who cares. Deny global warming. Deny evolution. It's not you who's going to lose their livelihood and home, so who fuck cares as long as you get your big mac and The O'Reilly Factor.
