That's just sad for a legend like Stevie Wonder. I wonder if they told him there were 20,000 in attendance?

The Bush Administration unequivocally - and knowingly falsely - attempted to tie Hussein and Iraq to 9/11. The rhetoric from his speeches, and the public statements made by Administration officials, is mind-boggling.

Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda link allegations were made by U.S. Government officials who claimed that a highly secretive relationship existed between former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and the radical Islamist militant organization Al-Qaeda from 1992 to 2003, specifically through a series of meetings reportedly involving the Iraqi Intelligence Service.
Memorex wrote:I cannot think of one instance where the Bush administration tied Iraq to 9/11.
Oh my God. You are actually going to blame Republicans for wanting tax cuts to get votes?
But the one thing I really have against the Democratic platform is it is entirely based on fear
The hatred toward Bush after the affects of 9/11 wore off were horrendous.
Both Katrina and Sandy are products of local leadership.
If the patriot act was fine, why were so many people hating Bush for it and were so excited when Obama got elected so it could go away? But oops, presidents never give back power, so guess that was a fantasy.

Yes - I am obviously aware that Iraq was tied to potential terrorism and their ties to or support of Al Queda. And I would be the first to say that Bush absolutely took advantage of the sentiment following 9/11 to go into Iraq. But I recall hearing him and others in the Admin say that Iraq was not involved with 9/11 but that our new policy of strike first ask questions later meant that we had to go into places like Iraq before they were capable of striking us (real or imagined).
Again - I personally think that Afghanistan was not a big enough target to quench the thirst that Americans had for revenge after 9/11. Someone had to pay. That's just what I think. It's why Bush had so much support.
Now, before you go into saying this is all different under Obama, think about things he may be exploiting. That same old war on terror has caused him to take the unprecedented move to allow for the killing or indefinite confinement of American citizens without due process. He took Bush's policies to a whole new level, like it or not. He has acted unilaterally to fight in other countries, etc. I'm for a lot of it, I'm against some of it. All I'm saying is don't expect Obama or Romney to work to decrease any of this. And don't pretend they are all that different.

In 2008, at his last stop in Cleveland, a Democrat stronghold, Obama attracted 80,000 people. This morning, at his last 2012 stop in that same city, Obama could only attract 4,000.
