There is a difference between not respecting somebody and being ashamed of them, as you said.
I never respected W as a leader. He was a failed leader. But, saying I was ashamed of him, or embarrassed to have him as the President, or whatever, is below disrespectful and wrong. IMO, it's equivalent to showing off a pic of him with a Hitler mustache,
Whether you agree with these Presidents or not. Whether you respect them or not. They are all trying to do the best they can with the cards that are dealt them, and TRYING to do the 'right' thing, Are you too blinded by your partisanship to see that?
Monker, this means absolutely nothing coming from you. You're one of the biggest partisan hacks on this board. I take no pleasure in saying I'm ashamed of our President, believe me. It's a position that should be respected and Obama and most of the presidents from the last 50+ years have been corrupt, in my opinion, and don't deserve respect.
In this case, we're talking about a President who's been meeting in the White House with members of the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization that has fomented terror against America across the world for decades and wants nothing but the destruction of Israel and America, as shown by documents from the Holy Land Foundation trial. This is an organization that openly supports terrorism overseas and is more covert here and our own White House invites them in and supports them here and overseas.
The Bush Administration was corrupt, too, so this isn't just an I-hate-Democrats thing. We've been cozying up to radicals for years now and I'd like to know why.
