That's the mentality of our once great Country today I'm sorry to say.

The mentality is , negative clowns like you two , who think that since your boy Romney lost , we aren't a great nation anymore.

Be proud of your country and your president , and once and for all get rid of your negativity. I know it's hard for you guys to be positive , but try dammit , TRY . :)

The problem with politics is there really is too much team=sport like fever and not enough discussion and problem solving. On both sides.

Like I said, we wake up and it's Wednesday. There are issues to address and everyone we pay huge sums of money to ought to be focused on them.

Why how Republican of you...Accusing people of hating on their country. Never said it. Never even thought it. Please retract and apologize for that remark.

Be proud of your country and your president , and once and for all get rid of your negativity. I know it's hard for you guys to be positive , but try dammit , TRY . :)

I'm proud of my country and ashamed of my President. Can you seriously tell me you were proud of Bush? I'll know you're lying if you say yes. And how hypocritical to tell us to stop being negative. Have you even said one positive thing about Romney? One?

You're ashamed of your president , deal with it.

I didn't say one positive thing about Romney cause there were none. Zero. And he was not my president. Thank god.

If he would've been chosen , I wouldn't have hoped for his failure and I would've given him a fair chance to lead us and respected him as POTUS !

As outrageous as Deano could sometimes be, he was always tongue-in-cheek about it and normally followed up with a PM to me to let me know he thought I was a good dude and that he didn't mean it. I don't get that vibe from you. You should be ashamed to even have his avatar in your sig. You're nothing like him.

It would be close to impossible for any President to accomplish what Bush did in his eight years. Speaking of running the country into the ground. He turned a surplus into a massive deficit (and, in fact, Obama's budgets have contributed to the deficit at a distinctly lower rate - 31% - per annum than Dubbya's), started two wars (one completely unnecessary), pushed through a massive and unfunded Medicare prescription plan, and deregulated the FCC, EPA, and FEMA. Seriously.

I never said Bush didn't do his part, so you're pulling nothing over me there. Bush was horrible...Obama is horribl-er.

Seriously, I can't remember any other President who promised that so much would change about the way things were done in Washington and then delivered so little. Most transparent administration ever? Right! Even the Huffington Post called him on that. Keep lobbyists out of the administration? Yeah, except they hired something like 40 former lobbyists right after declaring that. Heck, even the Obamacare legislation and the stimulus package were both written by special interests, something he was supposed to be doing different from Bush. It's just the same old, same old.

My wife is British - (and my two children half british). To clarify , you will note I proceeded to also rip apart Americans from northern Virginia accusing them of the exact same thing, and was making a general point (perhaps clumsily put sorry for any unintended offense) that everyone can be susceptible to corruption of the nanny state as opposed to criticizing any particular group of people. I would expect I will have a lot of Virginians accusing me of being unfair. (and for the record both Britain and Virginia are full of great people)

Go ahead. Swing even further to the right next time, and guarantee that the GOP stays in the political ash heap of history right alongside the Tories and the Whigs. As it is, the most recent GOP presidential contest featured an array of true-believer primary candidates (Santorum, Bachmann, Cain) expressing all sorts of nutty, extreme and unpopular positions that make Barry Goldwater look like Jane Fonda. Romney didn't run as a Massachusetts moderate, on every issue from self-deportation to supply side economics, he was as conservative as Genghis Khan. He was the very epitome of your mythical "real conservative." This election was a referendum on conservative catechism and it was soundly rejected. Don't start blaming the liberals. It wasn't the liberals who scored Romney the GOP nomination. It was conservatives in primary elections. And it wasn't liberals that cost Romney last night either, it was the conservative base and Romney's unyielding fealty to them. Romney pandered to the Tea Party and as a result, undercut his appeal to wide swaths of other voting demographics. Leave it to the party of self-responsibility to point fingers at others when analyzing just where they dropped the ball. For starters - your candidate was a slick smarmy douchebag.

I'd rather go down fighting for what I believe in than change for the sake of change. The Republican party hasn't represented me very well for a long time now anyway. If I wanted to pretend to be something I wasn't, I'd join the Republican or Democrat party. That's what they're good at.

This is bullshit.

There is a difference between not respecting somebody and being ashamed of them, as you said.

I never respected W as a leader. He was a failed leader. But, saying I was ashamed of him, or embarrassed to have him as the President, or whatever, is below disrespectful and wrong. IMO, it's equivalent to showing off a pic of him with a Hitler mustache,

Whether you agree with these Presidents or not. Whether you respect them or not. They are all trying to do the best they can with the cards that are dealt them, and TRYING to do the 'right' thing, Are you too blinded by your partisanship to see that?

There is a difference between not respecting somebody and being ashamed of them, as you said.

I never respected W as a leader. He was a failed leader. But, saying I was ashamed of him, or embarrassed to have him as the President, or whatever, is below disrespectful and wrong. IMO, it's equivalent to showing off a pic of him with a Hitler mustache,

Whether you agree with these Presidents or not. Whether you respect them or not. They are all trying to do the best they can with the cards that are dealt them, and TRYING to do the 'right' thing, Are you too blinded by your partisanship to see that?

Monker, this means absolutely nothing coming from you. You're one of the biggest partisan hacks on this board. I take no pleasure in saying I'm ashamed of our President, believe me. It's a position that should be respected and Obama and most of the presidents from the last 50+ years have been corrupt, in my opinion, and don't deserve respect.

In this case, we're talking about a President who's been meeting in the White House with members of the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization that has fomented terror against America across the world for decades and wants nothing but the destruction of Israel and America, as shown by documents from the Holy Land Foundation trial. This is an organization that openly supports terrorism overseas and is more covert here and our own White House invites them in and supports them here and overseas.

The Bush Administration was corrupt, too, so this isn't just an I-hate-Democrats thing. We've been cozying up to radicals for years now and I'd like to know why.

You dimwits who voted for Obama are going to be sorry a few years down the road when you realize we were right, just like some of you were right about George Bush. I wish I'd listened back then but I won't be laughing when you guys finally wake up.
