At the moment there doesn't seem to be one......elite plans that have been in place for decades, perhaps longer, are coming to fruition.......with staged events or at the very least well rehearsed reactions to these events seemingly happening on cue, and Patriot, ASIO and UK 'anti-terror' laws all about to be introduced or strengthened to enable us to be spied on or detained without charge indefinitely, it is difficult to see a 'bright side' beyond the love of family and friends I guess.
Unless of course you are one of the people like Bush who are looking forward to the 'rapture', or Armageddon, as some people say. I dare say you would be fairly happy with world events if that wrere the case.....I mean, listen to Bush, he thinks things are going swimmingly doesn't he??

I'm not too happy with world events and I don't really agree with a lot of the talk I hear about the "rapture" or whatever, but I try to focus on family and friends. That's where I can help people and be helped myself. I can't change the way the world works and I'm not going to let it get me down. I rarely listen to anything Bush or any other politician has to say.

Yeah, well you're basically echoing what I said about family and friends......they are a comfort.
It just absolutely boggles my mind that the President of the United States talks openly about 'battles between good and evil' and has actually mentioned the 'rapture' when talking about his 'faith'........and a fairly large chunk of humanity thinks there is no problem with that.
I think it is really, really scary.

Unfortunately sticking one's head in the sand won't help either, as our PM has aligned us so closely with Bush's nutty policies - everything Bush does affects us all, even as far away as we are.

ARRRGGHHH time for another drink!!!!

I'm not much of a political guy, as most of you already know, but sometimes I wonder if the world Governments are working with the terrorists? If assuming the Bible is correct, and that the final Anti-Christ (of Arabian descent supposedly) rules a one-world Government, what better way to rise to power than to work behind-the-scenes with the UN in exchange for world dominance. Scare people with bombs, take away some freedoms. Blow up some more people, take away even more freedoms. And next thing you know, we're all slaves and going to hell because we chose to conform to the mark of the beast, rather than starve.

I have no evidence to back this bogus rant, but since God didn't put me in a position to save the world, I have to agree with you guys. Ride it out, and there will always be friends and family (and any greater entity you might worship) nearby when things turn for the worse.

Meanwhile, back to my regularily scheduled post.

In an hour, I'm going to see the 'Rock Never Stops' tour, featuring Firehouse, Quiet Riot, Ratt, and Cinderella. Although I'm not really into the straight 80's rock stuff anymore, it's basically the only half-way decent venue that Maine will see for a couple years.

I'd love to go to Europe right now. I'd be broke all the time just from checking out bands.

Where does Arabian descent come from? Bush could be the Anti-Christ!!

Again, sorry for bringing a sombre tone to this place......events are being played out right before our eyes exactly as planned, and there seems to be nothing we can do.

Anyway, this is a cyber pub, so I'll lighten up and have a drink!!!

Jonny, I don't know where you got the Arabian thing from either mate, the AC could be anyone.....it could be Bush, though I happen to think Bush just works for him!

Yeah, and then we can all have another drink; but then a real one, not a cyberdrink! :D

We did have a great time; after we left our house we went to a pub for a couple of drinks, we had great Thai food (it contained bamboo sprouts though... ), and then we visited the metal bar and chatted over a couple more drinks!

Jonny, I have read somewhere that the Anti-Christ would be the person who brings peace in the Middle East... so far I don't see that happening.

A peace designed only so that people see him as a saviour......and do not rise up when mankind is finally, truly enslaved.
Here's a few interesting links, for Jonny and anyone else who might be interested. WARNING - some of these are right the fuck 'out there'.....others are a little disturbing, in light of certain powerful people seemingly trying to make things happen.

Jeez, Kenny! That's heavy reading for a Sunday afternoon!!!

What bothers me about the whole religious thing, is that it is being used as a powerful moral tool to justify certain political actions. To wrap something in a religious sauce makes it easy to find justifications for any point of view; all one has to do is find the passages that argue in favour of said point of view.

Because I am not a religious person myself, the announcement of the coming 'rapture' or whatever doesn't disturb me in the least. What does disturb me is when political leaders believe in that stuff, and have their actions guided by it, or take advantage of the religious faith their voters have, and appeal to that in order to get approval for their actions.

The reverend who wrote the third article has a good point... since so many people are sensitive to 'moral' appeals with a religious tone, it would serve the anti war movement if they learned to speak that language. But somehow that doesn't feel right either... they would be just as guilty of manipulating that language, but then in favour of their point of view...

Since this is a pub and all, I think I'll go and play a game of cyber darts now. :?

Jonny, did you have a good time at the concert?

Not really sure where I got it actually. From a site that I lost the link to when I scrapped my previous computer.

It was a really good show. I was a bit disappointed about the very short sets for the opening acts, but overall, all the bands performed very well, with no weaknesses at any point.

Firehouse played the shortest set, sticking mostly to the debut, and a couple from Prime Time. They did a meet & greet after the show (I got all my merch signed. :D )

Quiet Riot played second. Not really familiar with their stuff, because I'm not a fan of the group. They stuck to the Metal Health cd, which was no big surprise. They did a meet & greet as well. Chuck Wright was there, but wasn't too thrilled when I asked about a House of Lords reunion. A one-off show, he said, then wanted nothing to do with me. (I would've thought he'd be thrilled that a younger fan would know about a lesser-known 80's group that he played for, but nope.)

Ratt came next, and they were a shit-ton better than the first time I saw them. No covers (a plus,) no Stephen Piercy (a BIGGER plus,) nothing but their best tracks, done with a better singer. They surprised me alot.

What amazes me though is how Cinderella continue to be one of those forgotten high-profile rock groups that people don't ever talk about. They haven't written any originals for 11 years, there's no demand for a new album, yet they're still drawing people in like crazy, and they still pull off a kickass set, complete with fireworks and the like.

During the show, my Within Temptation t-shirt attracted the attention of a couple of Euro-Metal junkies dressed in goth. They made me look like an amateur. I listed all the bands I knew about, and they gave me a ton more bands from all spectrums of the Euro-Metal scene. (from Leaves' Eyes, to Soilwork. They knew their shit.) They were also at last year's Nightwish show, and yes, even they were disappointed that they didn't meet the fans.

Amazing show overall.

I doubt that you looked like an amateur; you know of bands many have never heard of... not to mention that you were wearing a fairly exclusive t-shirt. ;)

It's always nice though to meet people at concerts and hear about new stuff. Glad you had a good time there.

That's not good... It probably is something easy to fix, but the difficult part with computers is that it always takes time to discover the solution when you encounter a problem you've never had before.

Btw, have you asked your ISP about it? They might have had customers with similar problems, and possibly have a solution ready.

It may be the brand... It's been some time ago that I read about wireless connections. At the time I decided it's much easier to use a wire... since the computer needs to be powered through a wire anyway, an extra wire wouldn't matter that much.

I'm so bored right now. Work won't call me in. It's hot, sticky, and humid. Family's not working on my bro's house today.

My bro found another guitarist for the band project. He's still in high school, but is a huge fan of all the classic rock guitarists. He can shred a solo pretty good. So my bro has more-or-less reduced his role in his project as a rhythm guitar player and primary songwriter.

Now if we could only find a f****' bassist. The guitar-to-bass ratio in Maine right now is like 25 to 1. Bassists are nowhere to be found.

Many of my suggested songs still hang in the balance as to weither or not they will be used. But I'm not holding my breath.

No rain here... yet. Today has been the only good day this week. The rest of the week we're back to our usual autumn weather. Brrrr!

Everybody gets confused by this weather. Yesterday at lunchtime it was barely 16 degrees, and I saw people walk around in shorts. And at work several people persist in wearing their flipflops, because 'technically it is summer'!

Hope you enjoy the beach tomorrow, SnakeLady. :)

Today was a change and a half. Storms blew by last night and the weather was excellent today! Much cooler with low humidity...too bad I had a 10 hour shift today, otherwise I might've enjoyed it. :P

I got to work a little too early today, so I decided it was a good day to go clean out the local music store (in the same plaza.) I was a bit surprised that they were carrying more European titles! (including some of the more semi-big name releases from Frontiers Records, though it was licensed under a different label.) I ended up picking up the Starbreaker cd (listening to it now as I type.) Also got Ra "Duality" for dirt cheap. The original price was $10, but the store bought more than they could sell, so they had a few copies at a discout price of $7. To cap that off, I used my frequent buyer points to slash the price again to $3.50! I kind of feel bad that the band didn't make any money off me today, but at least I can say I did at least support the actual cost of the materials to put the cd together. :P Finally on the block is the new Leaves Eyes cd "Vinland Saga." How it sounds will determine if I go back and purchase the single for the extra tracks.

So it's been a good day overall, despite working.

Swealtering heat and humidity here. It's unbearable. 110 F with the heat index with 85% humidity. It's awful.

It's night here as well. Trying to cool down the bedroom with a window fan. I've thought seriously about getting an AC, but it's pointless because Maine doesn't see enough hot and humid evenings to make full use of it.

My bro gunned down another one of my songs tonight in our sort-of-but-not-really band practices. He came up with some bogus vocal melody that absolutely sucked. He said we could either use his melody, or send the song down to our friend, the former singer of Eden's Lie, and see if he could come up with one. When I suggested sending it down, he decided not to use the song. (if that was his predetermined decision, why ask for an opinion?)

I'm about ready to work on some solo shit. Too bad the music PC can't say the same (it's still on the fritz.)

We went to a birthdayparty yesterday. Did a lot of sightseeing through the countryside on the way over there, trying to find where the party was. Ultimately we did find the party, they had thrown a barbecue as well. That was a very nice surprise!
We all had a great time, although I can do without hearing Relax from FGTH ever again... that song must have been played 10 times last night.
