But that will be ok with me (now that I have seen them) as long as the band add more Arrival, Red 13 and Generations tunes to the setlists in the future. From here on out I hope the band start to focus more and more on the Augeri-era of the band along with their "hits".
This tour has been seen by some as a 'farewell' concert. But after watching the guys last night, and watching the fans, I think this is the beginning. Journey will never be as big as they once were. But they are poised to acheive anything they want. With a little focus there is nothing they cannot do from here. They truly do have 3 generations of fans. They have connected. They have gotten their new music out there. What comes next for Journey is up to them.
Great show!!

Gotta spread the talent around.
Both are great singers.
They should utilize that.
jrnyman28 wrote:I disagree. It is nice to show him off a little, but this way it is still obvious who the lead singer is in the band.

Good, you should be. This is amazing for the die-hards, and there is plenty for the casuals as well.
jrnyman28 wrote:Well, Steve did a phenominal job so I don't see the 'need' to have Deen singing more songs. I like hearing Deen sing (since this was the first time for me), but I say keep it to the minimum. Although I would love to hear Mother, Father still.
Red13JoePa wrote:Absolutely ROCK and J28. The fact that Deeno can sing is good b/c it gives Augie a blow. But the fact that now Deen has 2 songs of HIS OWN to sing lead on is even better. Do those, not something Perry sang before b/c now it's Augeri's time to play the Perry role. Don't have Ross do Walk's Like A Lady either, have him do Gone Crazy. Now that Neal's got a vocal on JRNY album he should deep 6 voodoo chile in favor of it.
I really have mixed feelings about anybody but AUgie doing the perry parts, and now there should be no reason for that to happen with the Generations material.

size of the venue, capacity/attendence/%filled??
Good crowd huh?
Rock'ndeano wrote:See, I told you, after you see them, you ask, "what other singer?"
This guy is better.
I have to agree with NIG on this one. I'm not familiar with the music at all, though I'm sure it's great stuff. I AM looking forward to hearing the Generations music, as well as the great, but not neccesarily "hit" songs....NealIsGod wrote:jrnyman28 wrote:Seeing pre-Perry material live was a dream come true.
Funny, that is the only part I am not looking forward to.
