Not sure about this one yet.....I heard that it was more 'song based' but as yet I am unconvinced. And I'm kind of over songs like 'Sacfriced sons'......if you know what I mean.Serendipity wrote:Dream Theater - Octavarium. I love the opening song and Panic Attack, even though it has very Muse like vocal melodies... but the riffing is so great, and the keyboards are almost like those of a Black Metal band! Those songs resemble most what they did on Train Of Thought, according to a review I read. Need to give that one another try, I guess...

After reading a glowing reveiw by Tali, I went and purchase Biomechaincal's "Empires Of The Worlds". Thanks for putting me on this great band, Tali. Plan to try find their first cd.
I think you're liking that because you think you should like it. I used to have drum lessons from this cat who loved the band, and I really didn't see it.....then again, I was a 23 year old space cadet then.....literally.Taliwakker wrote:My AOW is Mahavishnvu Orchestra-Inner Mounting Flame. Just some of the most badass fusion playing of all time...amazing band, especially John McLaughlin, Jan Hammer and Billy Cobham.

Kenny...that sounds like an accusation of being some sort of musical poseur...fuck you![]()
I like it because its filled with killer musicians playing killer music...i'd probably like it even more if i was still a space cadet![]()
Its just good jazz(kind of) with heaps of balls...and for 1971 there weren't many people who could touch these guys abilities....not that that really matters. I dig it...the music takes me somewhere.
