Actually, it was identified early on that I was a continuing supporter of Journey and I was TOLD BY PERRY MANAGEMENT that he would not give me an interview for that reason.

Yep...better believe it...because I was seen to be promoting the new line up of the band back 1997 I was told Perry would not do any interview with me.

Says a lot I think, but I continue to request an interview every year and continue to be denied each time.

Herbie Herbert was right.
What a spiteful, hate-filled old man.
Good riddance.

The know, the ONLY thing that saved this asshole was the fact he could sing so damned good..If he couldn't EVERYBODY would hate him.

Hey Andrew, you can interview me, when I get done hanging with Schon for a week.

So because Perry's management says he does not want to do an interview with you, YOU in turn are "spiteful & retaliate" towards Perry here on a public message board & then continue to keep requesting interviews with him every year???

Why do you want an interview with Perry, when it is real clear that you don't like Perry???

The kind of response YOU WROTE to "my post" makes sense to me, why Perry's management has denied you an interview with Perry every year!

Oh my GOD!!!!

I'm not sure whether to laugh this off, put my boot thru the PC screen or just ban you now to save my sanity.

You CANNOT be serious with this post?

I don't like Perry???????? The man I described as one of the mightest vocal God's in all rock history?

WTF????

Quit this site now then if that's all you have deducted from the history of this site. I won't even dignify that comment with any further time.

And where have I been spiteful to Perry? I just suggested that he must be bored having shunned the very job he lived for 30 years and having done virtually nothing of note in the last decade.

I love it. Perry-onlies have NOTHING to do but look for and create controversy where there is none to be found. Andrew does nothing to denigrate Perry, expresses that he wishes Perry would put out a new album, and all of you get your panties in a bunch over THAT? God, you must be bored. Can't blame you, Perry isn't doing anything to satisfy you. Meanwhile, Journey rolls on without him, making fans happy, creating new music and making money in the process. Once again, the MUSIC is bigger than any ONE person. Don't forget that...

Man! This is a fun thread all of a sudden!
Lori manages to once again post without knowing what she is talking about. And this time it is to the owner of the board, a pronounced major Perry fan! He, like all of us, truly love and respect Perry's once-golden talent. But he, like all the rest of us, know that Perry is doing little or nothing.

If you can gleen hatred for Perry, from the comment "Perry must be really bored" then you are dangerously imbalanced. "Spiteful & retaliate"??? You MUST be kidding!

Who sang the song "Controversy"? Prince?

Perry seems to be rather PETTY if he is not willing to grant an interview to someone simply because that person is still promoting a band which Perry once belonged to.

Exactly. And, of course, the Perry-onlies will defend that type of behavior from Perry, but if Neal or Jon refused to discuss Perry (which they don't), the Perry-onlies would be the first ones to criticize them. You can see which side has class... 8)

Hey, maybe we should re-name him Steve PETTY. Tom's brother! LOL

Come on Andrew! Get real.

The man is doing some very important things with his life at this point and is very busy. Just because you arn't aware of them, dosen't mean it's not happening. Some of it is about music and a lot is about careing. You should be so lucky to be accomplishing or to have accomplished as much as Perry has.

I resent your post. You should be ashamed.

If a person doesn't equate Journey and Perry as the same thing, not believe Journey can't exist without Perry, and has little or no negative opinions about Steve Perry, then some Perry fans out there will believe that person HATES Steve Perry.

That is the way it has been for at least fifteen years.

As for Andrew not getting an interview with Perry:

You have to understand, Perry turned his back on Journey following TBF. He even turned his back on Journey management - management HE insisted on. Perry didn't want ANYTHING about the TBF fiasco exposed...that is obvious to me...So, why would he grant interviews to a site that DID expose a small bit of the truth behind what really went on? He's not going to legitimize that with an interview.

Bro, WHAT exactly do you resent about Andrew's post(s) :?: The facts in them?
Or the petty childishl light in which those facts portray Perry?

Andrew's post was NOT factual but supposition and demands an apology. He is clueless as to what Mr. Perry is accomplishing and his post was mean sprited and ignorant. :?

So, to my enquiry. It was the petty, childish light in which those facts portray Steve. Gotcha.

Could you enlighten us? Perry doesn't do interviews, so it is kind of hard to know what he is doing. If it wasn't for Andrew, none of us would know that he is on David Pack's CD...

NealIsGod worte: "Could you enlighten us? Perry doesn't do interviews, so it is kind of hard to know what he is doing. If it wasn't for Andrew, none of us would know that he is on David Pack's CD..."

That could very well be it, NIG. While Andrew was attempting to give light to what Perry was up to others thought it was mean-spirited, exposing that he was reduced to being a session backing vocalist and all.

Yes.
And our Sheppards' names are Neal Schon, Steve Augeri, and Jonathan Cain.
It's THEIR band, afterall.

So how do YOU know this? Yes, he has done some volunteer work, although there are no dates included with the write up I read. Other than that, what is Perry doing that is keeping him "very busy"?

And I think you have missed the point to Andrew's post, which he clarified subsequently...Music was a MAJOR part of Perry's life, it is what he did! To not do what you have done for a major part of your life could be very boring.

We all know that Perry has said he is enjoying living a normal life. We all know that he gets involved occasionally with musical projects. But is it like a drug addict who is sober now? You never stop being a drug addict, you simply learn to control it...has Perry done the same thing with music? Music was Perry's life and the music is gone now...it cannot have been easy to adapt to. You can fill your life with distractions so as not to think about it...but it is still there, an emptiness, a craving, a need. And if there are days where that craving surfaces and that need starts gnawing at him, I am sure Perry might look at his life and think it has been boring without the music.
