Wasn't he the lead singer of Journey before his injury? Then, Steve Augeri became the lead singer when Steve Perry got injured. Face it. Steve Perry was kicked out of the band and replaced with Steve Augeri.
Quit playing dumb.
Perry quit Journey in '86. He came back in 1996 on the condition that Sony promote another single from his solo record. He then quit again (just as Journey creator, Herbie Herbert, predicted all along).
A reconfiguration of Journey (minus Perry) was already underway at that time involving Chalfant and Rolie.
Perry's return just stalled the process.

I'm discussing Journey...that's what I'm doing. I guess only people that agree with your opinion about Journey should be allowed to post here. You have your opinion on Journey, and I have a different opinion. Don't try to censor me here just like you did to me and others at Back Talk. I remember when you use to try to get people banned from there that disagreed with your opinion. That wasn't too long ago either NealISGod.

No, he wasn't.

It was NOT near death injuries. In fact, sometimes it is called an injury and sometimes it is called a disease. And there was NEVER any indication of HOW LONG it would take. That is the entire reason Journey wanted to move on without Perry...he was out 'indefinately'.JourneyTroll wrote:Steve Augeri, who is one of the least charismatic singers in rock history.
Your opinion, but MANY people disagree!
And NiG, YES I had to respond...

As far as Australia - Journey and about 30 other bands would tour here tomorrow if a decent offer came through.
From personal experience and knowledge, I don't know anyone who's going to put up such an offer
Eric wrote:Here are the facts:
1) Journey waited for Perry for 10 years
2) Journey waited for Perry to give them a timetable for another 18 months
3) Journey has released 2.5 albums and a soundtrack since 1998
4) Perry has released nothing
5) Journey has invited Perry to join them anytime

Didn't Perry tell the fans that the band was sh#t without the fans and didn't Ross say that most of the fans have left and what a shame it was. Adds up if you're paying attention.

Why WOULDN'T Perry feel uncomfortable being around A) People in a band he loved, that he would rather have nothing to do with, and B) The person who replaced him?heardonthestreet wrote: He is the one who didn't belong there just as Deen was gracious enough to state.
That would have NOTHING to do with how comfortable everyone feels...heardonthestreet wrote: He said that the band was tired of having a lead singer! What's with that?
No, he said the band was tired of being know as a band with a LEAD SINGER, they want to be known as a BAND!heardonthestreet wrote: Sorry Andrew. This guy is exactly as I figured he was, a doormat.
So now you are saying he is TOO NICE!? Who CARES? His personality has won over 100's of thousands of fans. Who cares if YOU don't get it!?heardonthestreet wrote: So now he's going to try to get his old band together and figures that his association with Journey will get it some notice?
Maybe, but what he said was he is trying to get some unreleased stuff out to the fans. Yes, there are Tall Stories fans out there. And YES, many came to be Tall Stories fans because of Journey...SO WHAT?
PROPERRY wrote:Well I would not know whether Perry was uncomfortable being around his former bandmates or not, but it sure seemed to me from the speech HE gave to the fans that HE came across as quite comfortable & handled himself with such class" at the Hollywood Walk Of Fame!!!
