Trouble Over At "The Kool-Aid Cafe"

Postby Saint John » Tue Jun 27, 2006 12:30 am

It seems that people over at BackTalk are complaining about it taking posts so long to reach the message board. If I had to guess, and it is just that, a guess, I'd say they're now screening every post that is not from one of their "Kool-Aid Drinkers." Seems like things are getting sadder and sadder by the minute.

No, it's been that way for awhile. I think it's either the old software they are using or something with the server that hosts the board. All you have to do is hit refresh after you post and it shows it automatically.

"So if my dog eats one of my Journey CD's" is a hot topic at BT right now! That about says it all! Place is a joke

"In Journey, all the hit songs we had were based around Steve Perry's vocals."

WARNING: YOU MAY NEED A VOMIT BAG IF YOU READ THE FOLLOWING!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1-He's God's Gift To Man.
2-His Wife Is God's Gift To Women, but with a bad accent.
3-He LOVES what he does for a living.
4-He works hard if not harder than any other band member because he has "those large shoes to fill." (I think he wears a larger size though)
5-His favorite song is "RumoUrs" by The Timex Social Club: "How do rumoUrs get started, started by jealous people and they get mad..........."
6-Awesome is Italian for Augeri.
7-The word Memorex is not in the Italian dictionary or the J.Cuervo version I have.
8-Eight wonderful years of touring, after touring, after touring, as he was meant to be the lead singer of Journey.
9-I've met wonderful people who became friends thanks to Stevie Awesome taking on a job that anyone else would have failed at or ripped some of the "rumoUr/trash someone I don't want in the band patrol" a new one.
10-He is a perfect 10!!
Now, these are all rumoUrs and some are facts. I don't kiss a$$, never have, never will, but I know fact from bad fiction. And I am on the "Steve Augeri can do no wrong" bandwagon. Because he is STILL the one(Orleans?) and only singer that can sing those songs live, yet never gets credit for it. Except for the fans who are dismissed as "had to much Jones Kool-Aid or worship BackTalk." And there a thousands of fans that will never post on any site, but attend just as many concerts as Frankie.

Let It Be, Oh Let It Be, pass the kool-aid, and I don't care if Steve misses 10 notes a night. He still sounds better than anyone NOT trying to do a Perry impression, with the biggest smile on his face. Because he loves what he does for a living. How many here can say that about their jobs? Not alot, IMHO.

Seeing a great band live is one of the greatest feelings on this Earth. And I know some other great feelings

So enjoy this live tour, the next live tour and relax and have some fun. Fun, Fun, Fun. I know I will.

See EVERYONE in Denver.

Cheers,
Sherri

What's the point of this?

I have my fair share of complaints about BT as well, but to bring posts from there to here is taking things a bit too far. Who cares if they have their fun? What's wrong, has it been too long since you guys have actualy ENJOYED a forum that you are jealous of those who do?

The place has developed completely pathological obsessions with 2 things: tapegate and bitching about backtalk.
"I love almost everybody."---Rocky Balboa 1990
"Let's reform this thing.Let's go out and get some guys who want to work and go do it"--Neal Schon February, 2001
"I looked at Neal, and I just saw a guy who really wants his band back"-JCain 2/01

well obviously to those who post at BT they find it fun and love to boost for the band; for those who don't want to boost; will find it filled with those flowery statements and generations33. it really has no appeal to me anymore because if it's the band's official site they've neglected it terribly and it's without meaning other than to sing the band's virtues and greatness. too bad. it used to be filled with some factual info that people could use; now it's empty and meaningless to me. there's no purpose.
