Especially when Perry's $ million dollar advance stipulated a tour was to support the album.
Which he accepted.
I always wondered how SP got out of those contracts with the TBF tours etc.
They just let him out? He had valid legal grounds to break the contract?
I have a hard time believing they just let it go.

whocares wrote:With Perry still at the helm, NEW Journey would get played on the radio though.
whocares wrote:That's something that isn't happening much these days, if at all. The DJ would have to be a hardcore Journey fan that doesn't care who is the lead singer is, to play newer stuff.
whocares wrote:How often do you hear songs form Late Night on the radio? Granted it was Neal doing Neal's thing, and if you don't like it then who cares, which is pretty much what they are saying about the nwer stuff with S.A. in the band. Neal's and even Jon's (possibly by design) solo material doesn't make mainstream radio.
whocares wrote:I'd like to know when Neal Saw Lou Gramm sing after Surgery, because I paid to see them, not knowing what had happened, and they sounded like a huge pile of shit. Lou mumbled through part of lyrics and talked the rest of them. At the concert I saw. Not to mention bringing his doctor out on stage... It was almost as big a fiasco as when Kansas toured with Steve Walsh who'd had problems with his voice, more for drugs according to him, than anything and a second lead singer.

Journey had to pay most of their advance money back. Break a contract, pay the cost.
