Having done my research since I saw him, new respect is due. That and the new energy I see in Jon and Ross have got me energized on a possible new future for Journey. I must say, this is very difficult for me, being a long time Perry Onlie fan! I respect Stephen's wish'es to live a private life, and I respect Journey's wishes to hopefully forge forward. Maybe we will get the best of both world's --- Journey continues and Steve Perry come's back with a solo release? That would be perfect for me! But that's just MO!RaiderFan wrote:Nicely done Voicelover, As I've said before I'm glad JSS stepped up and helped the guys out in Steve A.'s absence. From what I've heard on the boards he's a class guy and great to be around (and not dropping "F bombs" on 10 year olds) I don't think I'm never gonna get over that story!

He told me in a PM that he usually stays up late while they are on the bus because it's hard to fall asleep once they get to a hotel if he's slept already.

Yes, and he has since responded in kind. I will not post what he has said, because I did not ask him if I could. I have asked Andrew if he can verify that it is JSS. I'm waiting for his response, but he's probably getting tired of the question.LarryFromNextDoor wrote:voicelover, soto pm'd u at 4:30 am ??? man hes as bad as all of us!!!!! keep it up soto ,, ur making it all fun again! larry

Yeah, next to Journey, Kansas is my favorite band. Streets was a band that could've been much bigger, in my opinion. Steve Walsh still had a great voice at that point and his songwriting in that band was much better than most of what he had done in Kansas. There are a number of great Streets songs: "Don't Look Back", "Fire", "I Can't Wait", "If Love Should Go", and "The Nightmare Begins". Their guitarist, Mike Slamer, is also an excellent guitarist.
Anyway, I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of Streets but they were certainly a pretty good band.

I think you hit it on the head, too, about Walsh's songwriting. It was much better suited to Streets than to Kansas.
And of course, Kansas already had the songwriting well covered with one of the best ever, Kerry Livgren.
