More like a "Turd in the Punch Bowl".
What a self-important piece of dog shit.

No, they don't.
They undermine the entire premise.
Paul Giamatti's character slowly finds himself living in a real-life fable, and the only person whose heard of this fable is a crude one-dimensional Asian stereotype who lives in his building.
Yes folks, it's as stupefyingly awful as it sounds.
Oh, and there's also a gifted child who reads cosmic messages from the back of his cereal boxes.
A filmic celluloid abortion of the first order.

I saw it yesterday, I really liked the movie a lot! It was different from most movies, but then again I usually only see Disney movies - LOL

I have to agree with you T_N_C, but my wife really liked it. Must be a gender thing, we saw it at the drive-in along w/ Superman Returns. They both blew pretty bad. Only 9 more months 'til Spiderman 3....WHooohooo!

"Superman" had plenty of flaws, but enough geektastic moments scattered through out to make it worthwhile.
Still, a slight missed opportunity.

I felt that way until near the end, when Supes picked up a continent of Kryptonite and hurled it into space! WTF? How does that happen? Kryptonite still makes him weak, right? And when he lands on the Kryptonite causing a huge dent....wouldn't that kind of force shatter every bone in his body?

Anyone seen "My Super Ex-girlfriend"

surprisingly funny.

Heat is oppressive here too.

Even the dogs are feeling a bit stir crazy. (Too hot for even them to stay out long)

Thank goodness for movies and bars, but that gets expensive.

I guess we are supposed to think that Supes uprooted the Kryptonite continent from safely beneath the Kryptonite- where it was just plain rock. It's weak, I know.
Also, by then it is practically the 10,000000000 shot in the film of Superman lifting a heavy object (space shuttle, plane, car, daily planet globe etc). The film is definately lacking in some hand to hand combat.

Then I guess you saw "Cars" too

I had more fun trying to guess the voices than watching the movie

Well, kryptonite's green, right? That colossal hunk of crystal wasn't entirely composed of Kryptonite. Kryptonite is just the element from his home planet that's harmful. Otherwise, his Fortress Of Solitude wouldn't be much of a haven, would it?

Superman Returns could've been so much better were it not a retread of the 1978 Superman. I still enjoyed it, but it needed a supernemesis (which is what the tentative sequel, which we can no expect no sooner than 2009, will entail).

Looking forward to Ghost Rider, Spider-Man 3, and Transformers!

Yeah, the Village definitely blew!! I had heard a lot of trash talk about LIW...good though?

As for the heat...you know it hasn't been too bad in Phoenix lately...

Did everyone miss the fact that Superman went to visit "the sun" (i.e. his source of power) to 'charge-up' prior to uprooting the kryptonite-crystal planet cancer?!?? I think thats what was going on...of course, I could be wrong.
P.s. Heavy Metal rules...

I guess I just assumed that it was entirely formed from Kryptonite b/c of the fact that L.L. created it in like...oh 15 minutes (it would probably take a million years or so to start developing an organic rock base). And for the fact that right after Supes made that impressive impact. A couple of Joe Schmo's commence on kicking his ass! What they were standing sure didn't look clear or white like the fortress either. The whole thing's stupid! Anyway, I'll probably see G.R. and T.F. too. They have a real potential to suck real bad though..fingers are crossed!

Haven't seen it...however I AM looking forward to the next Batman-installment: The Dark Knight, featuring Heath Ledger as The Joker...hopefully, he won't be taking ALL the scenes like Nicholson did.

ROTFLMAO!!!

That was my first thought, too. Maybe Jake is Robin, and that's why the Joker and batman don't get along....

jk, I love the Dark Knight version of Batman.

BRING ON DA HEAT!!! I would rather have it hotter than the blazes of hell then cold. When it's this hot all I have to think about is January, 20 below zero and snow up to my ass. That cools me right down enough to enjoy the heat.

The rest of you can head to South Africa, they are dealing with freezing temps and mounds of snow right now.

I saw the video story of that lady at the Sox game. My heart just broke for her husband!
