Absolutely ridiculous. Journey is not even close to that level, and Perry sure wouldn't put 'em there.

Def Leppard and Journey just played in front of 30,000 people here in Chicago. Add Perry, have DL as the opening act and you have your 40,000 people. Another great idea would be a double-bill of Journey Bon Jovi...alternate the closing act and you have at least 40,000 people.

Ahh, so you are adding Leppard. I meant on their own, like the Stones, BJ and U2 would do.

Bon Jovi was just here in Chicago and had Nickelback. They played Soldier Field. I'm not sure if the other two had an opener last time here, but having a good opener makes a lot of sense for many reasons. How about this: The Reconciliation tour....Journey with Perry and Styx with DeYoung. That would be a cool concert. Styx would obviously open.

Ur missing 1 very very very important point! The Stones, Bon Jovi and U2 never went away. Journey did for years from 86 to 96. They came back with an album in 96 not a tour. 1 song did well in the charts and got a grammy nomination. But 96 was a decade ago. In the last century. & "popular" music is different now very different.

& a few other things:

1. Perry didn't draw 40k with his FTLOSM tour. I was there. Why do you reckon that was?

2. Been to a Journey show lately? Ask around the crowd. Lots of people still think it's Steve Perry up there. They don't know the difference whether it's lipsynch boy or JSS. How can sales be affected?

3. Name me 1 "nostalgia band" that disappeared for a while, then came back and toured and has awesome ticket sales at shows? Maybe the Eagles but they were waaaay bigger than Journey. & Henley was always doing something that sold.

Shit seeing as they bought all these 5* packages & paid ALL that money you'd think the least the band can do is let them know. Oh w8 I got it. The band prolly thinks as soon as they see JSS shake it they'll transfer their jiggly adulation to him. Oooookkkk then. It's only a matter of time b4 they're all fantasizing about JSS don't u think? They gotta fantasize about someone.

This from the person whose location is "Perry's Bed in JourneyHeaven"?

Apparently it takes one to know one.

You make some good points. However, the Eagles were NEVER "waaaay bigger than Journey." Journey was huge when MTV came out, were all over the radio and had a video game. While having a vidoe game might seem stupid it shows that EVERYONE knows who you are. Perry played intimate venues on his solo tour. He said he wanted it that way. I concede he would not have been able to draw anywhere near 40,000. Journey WITH Perry would. I've been to about 25 shows in the last 8 years and I never heard anyone say they thought Perry was still in the band. To me, that argument is old and ridiculous. In fact, the last year or two I've heard grumblings in the crowd how they wanted Perry back. Everyone knows Perry hasn't been with Journey in quite some time.

I haven't been to 25 shows the last 8 yrs. Maybe 10 in the last 5 tho with lippin' boy (& yes I'd like my money back TY). At every show I met a friggin' ton of people in beer lines or the can who said Perry looked different & his voice sounded different but they still thought it was Perry up there. I said it's not Perry & they were shocked & said oh well it's just as good (& you can imagine how I felt with that comment just by looking at my signature & avatar). This year's show I met people who knew JSS wasn't Perry & were grumbling about it. I told them Perry hadnt been w/Journey for 8 years & there had been another guy inbetween. They looked at me as if I came from Mars. Then they said it was all good cos DL was there & Journey was just the opening act neway.

Maybe because Chicago is a huge Journey town, but I've never had that experience. If someone said they thought Augeri was Perry I'd have to slap the shit out of them. There's no comparison at all. We WILL hear from Mr. Perry very soon. Between October and March. As I've said before...cut it, paste it keep it and file it. Throw it in my face if I'm wrong, but there's an announcement coming between the time frame I gave.

I saw Journey in Chicago in 01 at Tweeter & several people said that to me that night. I didn't think I was big enough to slap them tho!

I think ur right. My God is gearing up to do something again. I feel it. I know it & man, I can't fucken wait. OMG. I gotta get front row for that. I think maybe he'll put up his website. God I love his voice. Gives me goosepimples to think of hearing him again.

What do u think he thinks about this whole Journey fiasco? Does he even give a shit?

He gives a shit...that is for sure. He's the person most associated with Journey. If you ask the average person about Journey, the name Steve Perry is gonna come up more than any other member.

I was just saying that to sum1 else. If u ask average Joe or Mary who is in Journey the only 1 they know is Steve Perry unless they're diehards. Most have never heard of Neal Schon even. Pity but true nonetheless.

We know how SP felt about SA when he joined. But does he really care about the lipsynch crap? How does he feel about JSS?

I don't know how old you are, but that Journey game came out when I was in my Atari-addicted years, and none of my friends owned it. It was a lousy game. Yes, Journey was big at that time, but when you say the Eagles were never way bigger than Journey... well, more people own the Eagles Greatest Hits than any other album by any artist. What does that tell you?

So that is why they a 29 million selling GReatest Hits album from before the Hotel California years? The Eagles are the no. 5 selling band of all time. I heard Journey is at no. 27.

He may have wanted it that way, but his concerts were still not sold out a lot of the time.
