Funny, everyone else that has seen them in Europe in the past few weeks says they sounded great, and some have said the IV tracks came across even better live than they did on the album. And if that wasn't enough, your mentioning Nickleback pretty much throws all your post's credibility out the window. As did Goo Goo Dolls.

When they release an alternate cover I might buy it - I do like the band, but jeez that cover is just.....I dont know. Pro-war?

And Spirit, I'm so envious of all those bands you have got to see - where I live the distances are so huge that we get very few bands. In fact the city of Perth is the most isolated city in the world.

When Ticketmaster advertised Roger Waters tickets in Perth I didn't blink - even though the cost included 1100 for airline tickets.

Fuck the lyrics - I'm allowed to not like a stupid ass cover that depicts a granite-jawed soldier surrounded by angels......just as you're allowed to have a different opinion.

Kip's never been a master lyricist based on the other stuff I have of his - and basically I've made the call to veto the album (unfortunately) because I hate the cover. So there.

No my 'assumption' means I won't be buying the album - that's all.

I don't begrudge you buying it. Unfortunately the actions of the Governments of the US, Britain and my own country in the last four years have made me so rabidly anti-war that even the slightest thing now offends - however, I think that taking a stance against people who make enormous profit from the suffering of others is still the predominantly sane postion......on the other hand, it is just an album cover.

At the end of the day, who gives a shit?

Kenny:

I'd hoped you wouldn't see the artwork as pro-war, but as pro-soldier. I don't think it takes a stand either way, except to say that it'd be great if angels watched over everyone who finds themselves in that kind of hellish situation. The album itself contains songs that Kip wrote that require the listener to feel what these brave men and women must feel in combat, but that doesn't require you to agree with this war or any war.

I hope you'll take a second look at it and give it another chance. Thanks,
EVS

Well said Ethan - I'll take it under advisement, but I won't be buying the album with the current cover. I'm sure Kip could care less.

I did enjoy your eloquence though mate - I look forward to future posts.
