How's Jeff's morning singing voice?

I've now seen Hall & Oates, Foreigner & Meat Loaf appear on the Today Show. I hope once all this crap is resolved, we get to see Jeff up there w/the other Journey boys. Daryl Hall sounded a bit rough, but still great nonetheless. He sounded awesome live when I saw them at night. I know it's tough to sing in the morning tho. Here's the link. Most singers can't stand performing in the morning. Howard Stern has had bands on in the past where the lead singer always seems concerned about how they will sound.

Fleetwood Mac sounded like shit on the Today Show a few years back, and they usually sound great. It was also freezing cold outside that day on top of it. Def Leppard was laughably bad on their outdoor Today concert.

I've often thought they should tape these things the day/night before, so the artist isn't "embarrassed" by their morning non warmed up voice. Not everyone has a great singing voice so early in the morning.

I'm usually perfectly warmed up 12 hours after I wake up so to sing 15 hours after is no biggee either. The chore was this summer, getting used to later time zones which meant earlier time clocks for me, singing at 7:45 pm every night meant trying to get up at 8-9am every morning...not easy if you go to bed at 2-3am & need 7-8 hours of sleep for the damn thing to work every day...shoulda been a guitarist, ha ha!!

He sounded absolutely fantastic at nite in concert. I was blown away yet again (I see them pretty much every year but this year, my seats were the best ever). It was TOTALLY live too. They were taking requests from the audience & a few times, they started one song, changed their minds & did a different one. He totally wailed up there. & man, the boy can still dance too. He has his own little manly version of a wiggle (boy I hate even saying that word now, it's been ruined). He was sexy as all hell. I never thought I'd have the hots for a guy who's 60, but yep, I did. Yummy.

No Jeff, u definitely should NOT have been a guitarist. That's one hell of a unique voice u got there. I can't wait to see u on TV shows.

I always thought Daryl Hall had a great voice, but that was a bit rough for my taste. He was REALLY straining to hit any high notes and even with the straining, still missed all of them! That said, it was early in the morning and probably damn cold, so I can't really hold it against the guy. Hell, I can barely talk in the morning!

Most of MeatLoaf's recent TV appearances were lip synched.
I believe this one briefly starts off using his voice from the album (maybe to get him in the right pitch) and then he takes over completely.

After you compose yourself and want to laugh again at Meat's expense, peruse YouTube for his disastorous 100% live American Idol appearance.

He said he wasn't going to tour in support of Bat 3, and anyone who's been paying attention can clearly understand why.
His voice is done. Accept Bat 3 for what it is - a piece of studio post-prod masterpiece and nothing more.
He did some limited run shows recently. I have no doubt those were probably lipped.
