Hall sounded great... those high notes can be a real sum bunch!! the only thing i hate about the today show is the camera personnel showing the audience half the time, especially during the guitar solos or instrumentals, and those far away shots slowly zooming in,,

I'm usually perfectly warmed up 12 hours after I wake up so to sing 15 hours after is no biggee either. The chore was this summer, getting used to later time zones which meant earlier time clocks for me, singing at 7:45 pm every night meant trying to get up at 8-9am every morning...not easy if you go to bed at 2-3am & need 7-8 hours of sleep for the damn thing to work every day...shoulda been a guitarist, ha ha!!

Daryl Hall sounded a bit rough, but still great nonetheless. He sounded awesome live when I saw them at night. I know it's tough to sing in the morning tho. Here's the link. Keep watching & u see Meat Loaf too.

Fleetwood Mac sounded like shit on the Today Show a few years back, and they usually sound great. It was also freezing cold outside that day on top of it. Def Leppard was laughably bad on their outdoor Today concert.

Saw Bon Jovi perform a few times on the Today Show and they sounded great!

I always thought Daryl Hall had a great voice, but that was a bit rough for my taste. He was REALLY straining to hit any high notes and even with the straining, still missed all of them! That said, it was early in the morning and probably damn cold, so I can't really hold it against the guy. Hell, I can barely talk in the morning!

Most of MeatLoaf's recent TV appearances were lip synched.
I believe this one briefly starts off using his voice from album and then he takes over completely.
After you compose yourself and want to laugh again at Meat's expense, peruse YouTube for his disastorous American Idol appearance.
He said he wasn't going to tour in support of Bat 3, and anyone who's been paying attention can clearly understand why.
He did some limited run shows recently. I have no doubt those were probably lipped.
Either way, he's toast.

Then those artists should get up extra early and prep. their voice.
I'll never forget Journey's dismal appearance on the CBS Morning Show.
Augeri couldn't hit any notes, was warbly, croaky - tried to hit the high end of DSB with falsetto.
People always piss and moan that Sony didn't promote the band, well, why would they funnel more cash into the band after they embarassed themselves on their national television debut?
The odds were already against them trying to replace a vocal dynamo like Perry, and they offer up that sub-standard garbage?
