I don't believe it will be today and Friday I am OFFLINE!

Yes, Friday USA time is Saturday here and it is the weekend for my youngest's 1st birthday, so if I wish to remain married, the PC will be turned off :)

Andrew, was that really a good idea to announce to everyone that you won't be watching??????????

Someone will be watching...if not me...SOMEONE!

Nice recovery!!!

It's like waiting for a baby. Christ!

And this is like the longest labor and delivery ever.

Are we even at 8 centimeters yet? Has the water broke?

I agree, this trial of labor has gone on long enough we're stuck at 5 cm with no cervical change in about 5 months. With all of the pitocin that everyone has been adding to this subject, you would think something would be happening, I suspect a malposition, I think it could be persistant occiput posterior. A c-section is not a failure, don't be afraid of it. Let's call anesthesia to dose up the epidural, start an IV bolus, draw a CBC and T&S, place a foley, take her to the OR, prep and drape the abdomen and go for it!!!!!!! I'll scrub in and assist Dr Andrew, who wants to circulate? And let's have the resuscitation team ready just in case any wigglers go down! (Yeah, I've done this before!)

Yep agreed! And, let's change that T&S to a T&C for 4 units, let's start another IV and give 0.2 mg methergine IM after delivery of the placenta, along with 20 units pitocin added to 1000 cc LR, run it wide open, have, have hemabate on standby and if given, please also give lomotil!!!! I'm concerned that with all that pit there could be some serious atony. Let's also have a hyster tray and a second OR team standing by in case this C-Section turns to a C-hyst! And, in case we can't get the T&C back in time, let's have four units of O- on stand by in case we need to transfuse before type specific is available.

I have O neg, I'll donate some. Methergine doesn't suck as bad as hemabate (nasty diarrhea!!!) but, we've got to do what we've got to do. If we have to do a hyst then this situation will never happen again cuz there will be no more babies!! After we're out of the OR, lets give 200 mcg of cytotec PR ( ) if we don't do the C-Hyst.
