One quack tried to prescribe Prozac to my wife when her father died to help her get through the depression. I stopped that right away!

Plus we all are going to die. The sooner everyone faces that fact the happier we all can be. Stop the malpractice suits, your fucking 90 year old uncle is dead - it was no one's fault.
Now don't get me wrong, if you go in to have your tonsils taken out and find they cut off your scrotum......you MIGHT just have a case there.

i never really believed in lots of illness' and the pills that help them until i worked with these folks, im talking the biggies,, like schizophrenia ect.. im a believer now,, BUT there is one illness i just dont believe in that people think they need a cure for.. RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME.. dont we all get the "jimmy leg" once in a while???, do we need to take a pill for it? i cant imagine writing that on a resume or something ,,

I agree that too many people run to the doctor for the simplest things and definately should not expect an antibiotic every time they get a cold, they are doing more damage than good. But there are plenty of legitimate reasons to be seeing a physician. High blood pressure and high cholesterol being examples.
Just playing devils advocate here. I (and most nurses) are the WORST patients. My cholesterol is out of this world (no, it's not because I'm a fat hog--all hereditary) and I refuse to be one of those people who have to take medicine for the rest of my life. Besides that, I'm not old enough to have to take medicine the rest of my life! I'm in denial.
