One thing about it, if the guy does do a solo album (and I have heard that he is doing that), he won't have to be in Perry's shadow anymore. That's a good thing for him. I'm with you. I was shocked when they picked Augeri over Chalfant on the first go. I seen Kevin in 2003 at the Illinois State Fair. Two Fires were playing at the fair and Journey played later in the evening. The guy walked of his bus scarfing a quarter pounder, walked onto the stage and kicked ass. They did two Journey tunes and were much better than Journey were later in the evening. The dude has great pipes and good writing skills as well.

Well as you probably know, Journey was giving him a look just before TBF, but SP appeared out of nowhere and they just had to go with SP. I can't say they didn't make a good choice. SP is better than anyone. I'll bet Chalfant said to himself that he wouldn't give them the time of day if it happened again. I could be wrong, but that's what I think happened.
