Well, that's nice, whocares.
My grandmother hung me up in a closet once. ONCE.

The point about VH is that they WERE the most entertaining live act in 1978 and for the following few years. I saw them as a support act to Black Sabbath at Leicester DeMontfort Hall in '78 when no one knew who they were here. It was like aliens had visited, everyone was utterly speechless. At that time there was only one DLR and certainly only one EVH. No fucker could play like him then and it took another few years for the rest to play catch up.
Fast forward a few years and yes, they have nothing new to offer apart from coke and booze fuelled egos. Sammy was an interesting departure but VH Mk1 was awesome and should be remembered that way. They are just washed up old twats now who should really know better.
Not worth getting worked up about really?

Now you are out of line! Everyone knows the most revered and awesome drummer is that guy from the Stray Cats.

PS. I would have liked to have been his drum tech back in the day, just set up the ol snare, put a couple sticks on top...call it a night!

Oh, and to get this back on track, I love Jeff in Journey but he would also be ASTOUNDING in VH! (a sober VH that is)

It could be a good post, but I smell piss.
Look, if you don't like the way he sounds, fine, let him know it. Beat his head in. I am all for hearing dissenting opinion. However, you are beating Soto up becuse he is carrying on with a band that your "classic saviour" no longer wants any part of. Jesus Christ, this gets fucking old.
I bashed the shit out of Steve Augeri because he deserved it. I didn't bash him because compared to Steve fucking Perry he sucked? No, I bashed him but good, because he committed a rocknroll crime. I was sickened by it and took out the trash. Soto isn't doing anything scandulous like Lipping? He is doing a job that was offered to him. This has NOTHIMG to do with Soto "sounding good in Journey." This has everything to do with you are pissed because "clasic Journey has left the station on a one way trip." Get over it, for fucks sake. I bet you are a dude who weeps for weeks, over his girlfriend leaving him. Dude, do you know, it has been 11 years since the portugese god has hung up the mic? Get over it.

A personal note to JSS (if you ever happen to read this)...I really appreciate your humble attitude and attention to your fans. But, I have to be honest...I am too hooked on the "classic" Journey lineup with SP to really follow the band like I used to. Something doesn't yet work for me about the latest lineup...
I do think you are a hard-working, talented, and gracious professional and I wish you success.
BTW, your voice would be PERFECT for Van Halen. Something about the tonality of your voice would fit those songs...perhaps better than Journey. Were you ever approached by them?
No offense intended in any of the above comments.
Rock On!
