Yep...and I find it ironic that Chalfant somehow finds a way to release a "Journey" sounding album at about the same time as Journey releases theirs, and it usually ends up being better. "Eye of the Storm" outshines TBF, the first Two Fires album is pretty damn close to Arrival...and now this tribute album, assuming Journey releases an album sometime soon.

I think things would have been a lot different, in a good way, had they done so. I'm really curious how they ended up picking Augeri over Chalfant. Seems like it would have been a no-brainer to go with Kevin..

Says Kevin:
Yes it was with Journey, it was with Aynsley Dunbar, Steve Smith, Gregg Rolie, Neil Schon, Ross Valory, Jon Cain, and myself at Bimbo's in San Francisco during October of 1993. It was to roast our then manager Herbie Herbert for a Thunder Road Benefit. I actually have photos of that show. I don't have them scanned in, but maybe I could do that tomorrow and send one. You may be able to check online at the San Francisco Chronicle for an article around October 11, 1993. It was a great evening of entertainment, many artists throwing down serious performances.

You are saying Chalfant was better than Steve fucking Perry?
You just cemented yourself as the dumbest son of a bitch ever and an OBVIOUS Perry hater. Explains your love for Augeri. Go drive into a truck.

At that point in time, yes, he would have been. Perry wanted nothing to do with Journey...he wanted his solo career. Even Moyas said on his site that Perry told him, "After I get this Journey thing out of the way, we can get back together." He seemed to have no intention of making a long-term comittment to Journey.
A Journey with Steve Perry in 1996 was a band that released one album every ten years and never toured. The FACT is Chalfant has released more new music then Journey and Perry COMBINED over the past ten years. You can blame that on any factor you wish - but it's still a fact.
Journey would have been better off withtout Perry, and with Chalfant, in 1996...I have no doubt about that.
RockinDeano wrote:I agree with you Monker, however, NO ONE knew Perry was about to fuck over the band like he did. He told Moyes that waaay after the TBF derailment.

Perry premeditated the destruction of this band.
Fuck him for that.

Sure, just like YOU have a right to be an asshole and you take advantage of that ALL the time....like now.RockinDeano wrote:Catherine wrote:Perry was an asshole in his hayday, I'll give you that....but I think in his old age, he has calmed down a bit.
