I had a great trip planned next week with my bro, but it doesn't look like it was gonna happen. Our friend in NH invited us to the NY KISS Expo in New Jersey, but it may be cancelled if he doesn't get a hotel room within 3 miles of the show. The excuse: He doesn't want to drive once we get there, because he wants to drink.
IMO, the excuse doesn't wash out. What I don't understand, is why he can't drink the night before the show, and after the show? He'll have both mornings to recover.
And I've found hotels with rooms close to the show. No, it's not within 3 miles, more like 4 or 5, which is still walkable. For me, that's a cakewalk. I do that much exercise just bringing carts in all day at work.
I bet money that his soon-to-be misses had something to do with this. I can smell it.
So why don't my bro and I go alone? Traffic. He wants nothing to do with it. I don't blame him. Even traffic close to home stresses me out.
So we've got a backup trip in plan. It's not the KISS Expo, but it'll be close enough. Hitting every cd store in southern Maine. Bad news is not doing something out of the ordinary. Good news, is that the extra money set aside for expenses becomes spendable.
...It's a tough call. I'd rather do something I haven't done before. Some of my high school classmates moved to New Jersey and it would've been cool to meet them again.
