Really? Which band, Symphorce or Brainstorm?
Symphorce's "Phorceful Ahead" album borrowed some lyrics off Pain of Salvation's "The Perfect Element"album....at first singer denied he'd ever heard PoS then later admitted that he was guilty.

Anyway, it still feels like yesterday first time I heard it...

Probably the best record he ever made, and the best singer he ever used. I know of a lot of Yngwie fans who wish the line-up for Odyssey would reunite...I heard that line-up had major chemistry issues, but then adding one part Yngwie to multi-parts musicians-of-any-type usually ends in a nasty explosion.

Actually, it was Joe Lynn Turner on Odyssey. Amazing singer, and over the years his voice even keeps getting better, I think.
Marching Out I like very much as well. There are a couple of great songs on that.

I thought Meine's voice sounded as good as I 'd heard it for a long time....looking forward to getting it.Taliwakker wrote:I've heard the new scorps album and it does sound like there might be some other songwriters involved...quite a few commercial radio sounding songs on it. Overall quite goiod for the scorps.

Is the AOTW status based on the music or the tightness of the singer's ass?Serendipity wrote:Kamelot - Ghost Opera. Wow, I didn't expect they would have changed so much musically, it's very diverse as well. I like it though; every song is a surprise that way, and a very pleasant surprise. Apart from the Gregorian choir part... WTF???
And how has the music 'changed so much', pray tell??
Must be based on the tightness of the singer's ass then eh?Taliwakker wrote:And how has the music 'changed so much', pray tell??
Its not as good (as Karma or Black Halo)...thats the only real change i can hear...apart from too many effects on the vocals.

Well, of course I did check out the ahem... artwork. The CD is pretty nice too though.
Maybe it depends on the way you listen to it... I thought I was going to listen to a record more gothic than The Black Halo. So when it didn't turn out to be a sequel I was quite surprised.
Anyway, what made them sound differently for me were the Rammstein-like riffs and the 'kloink' sounds -as in NM156; the punch punch punch part, along with the vocal effects that Tali already mentioned. It's a bit darker, I think, but yes, still Kamelot.
