Perry's voice sounds like polished steel on that record. How much of that was natural and how much was effect, I wonder. There seems to be a slight "doubling" effect or just a dash of chorus that adds to the sheen. I found myself even loving "Backtalk" after not hearing it for several years. Smith's drums are unreal in this recording. But the highlight for me was rediscovering the song "Frontiers." It just seems pretty timely with the world's tribulations these days. Anyone giving this gem a listen lately?

Anybody know the deal on the drastically different Only Solutions on the F remaster? When it was cut? What came first that or the Time3 one? It almost sounds like a demo.

It can be readilly accessible if you, go outside and drive to these places that actually sell cds called Circuit City or FYE. I got all mine at either of those 2 places. @ CC they'll be 11.99 @Fye 13.99.
I'll throw a plug to the FYE near me, the place is tiny but the manager ensures an amazing variety of titles.
He actually had at one point EVERY reissue including all 3 perrys. And I noticed he replaced them within a week when I bought them.

I've got a bootleg compilation that has an alternate version of Only Solutions on it. It's listed on there as the original version. I wonder if it's the same as the one on the Frontiers remaster.
Red13JoePa wrote:Look at the part on the last 2 pages where it says "Original Album Credits" followed then by "Reissue credits" and should say remastered by Dave Donnelly 2006.

Could be, someone get the Time3 book out and see if the one on THAT is some other version....I just look at that one as the real one because I been familair w/ it for years.

Oh, that's gotta be the '96 remaster then....check the date is it '96 by Ludwig in Portland, ME?
If that's so then that is 4 that they didn't remaster, broken up by Departure being remastered in 2006 right in the middle. WTF?

Red13JoePa wrote:J, I think you should cover or at least demo Only Solutions and slap it up here.
I want to hear you on that.
